Meet the colorPicker Developer

Why was colorPicker created?

I found the Internet Explorer color picker tool very useful while teaching HTML and CSS basics to college freshmen, and was surprised to find that there was nothing like it already in Firefox. When I searched for add-ons of a similar nature, they were all very complicated. The handful of add-ons that provide this functionality are not as simple as I would like for my students and I have learned that add-ons are quite capable. So naturally I was concerned about privacy and security risks and did not want to spend hours reviewing the source code of the more complicated color tools available. This add-on has less than 40 lines of code; so no one has to trust me or my code. In about one minute, even a novice programmer can see it does nothing sneaky!

Because it is so simple, this add-on is also a great example for those trying to get started!!
