Enjoy this add-on?

The developer of this add-on asks that you help support its continued development by making a small contribution.

Why was Accentuate.us created?

Created by Kevin Scannell (http://borel.slu.edu/) and Michael Schade (http://mschade.me/), this add-on was created as the first client to utilize the powerful Accentuate.us (http://accentuate.us/) web service, enabling diacritic restoration in a lightweight and always up-to-date format.

What's next for Accentuate.us

We have big plans for this add-on! Discussed further on Michael's blog at http://mschade.me/, we will be making Accentuate.us even more intuitive in the 1.0 release. The two primary things on the table are an intelligent ordering of the full language list to better fit your usage patterns, and accentuation as-you-type. This is a free and open source project, so we rely on user contributions to maintain the project. You can donate through this Mozilla Add-on website or see other ways to contribute at http://www.accentuate.us/contributing

Who is Kevin Scannell?

I am American, originally from Boston but living in St. Louis, Missouri now. For many years I've had a great interest in the Irish language and language technology. I lead the team that created the Irish localizations of Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird, and I created the spell checker "GaelSpell", which is available as an add-on from this site (I translated this site too!) Enjoy, and send me a note if you get some benefit from these programs!
