Just what I needed Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Launching a browser from another application (AquaMail in this case), then, as the back button won't exit (I love the UC Browser solution - in the original tab opened from another application, the back button - browser, not phone obviously - looks like u-turn sign and tapping it not only exits the browser, but also closes the tab...) I was thinking, OMG, do I really have to switch back to AquaMail The Old Way!? So thanks for this - at least on this particular level Firefox can at least be on par with UC Browser, CM Browser and Dolphin now :) Too bad Mozilla decided to ignore all the good design ideas of the best mobile browsers before them, and design a totally new one from scratch, and thus made their UI the crappiest I've seen :(

Glad to help a little

fwiw, Fennec has improved considerably since I started contributing a couple years back.

As far as a new browser from scratch for Android, you might be interested in Servo, currently in development by Mozilla.

Thanks for trying Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The quit option is at the bottom making it inconvenient. It does cut the browsers processing but it doesn't close it entirely. A for effort, it works.

The lack of the option earned Firefox a 1star in the app store. Unacceptable to leave a close app option to the addon community and not have it in the tin.

You gave Firefox Mobile / Fennec a 1-star ?

Duuuuuuuuude, not cool ... I've got 300 patches into that thing :-D

Glad you like it !

Práctico

Mixed emotions

I'm glad people still find this useful, though I've long since gone over to the side that realizes in an Android world, a "Quit" button is largely irrelevant. it may be a comforting throw-back to earlier OS's and provide some perceived level of control over our electronic lives or a bit of familiarity with the desktop version, but I no longer use my own creation.

;-) Just swipe-to-close like any other app !

Should be a mandatory feature of ANY solid full screen mobile app.

Почему штатно нет элементарной кнопки выход ?????

Thank you for your review.

I don't understand your follow up question, but if you eMail me, we can talk further.

does not quit Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Sends FF to the background. Uninstalling.

Yah it does ;-)

Perhaps you've used the add-on to quit the application, then still see it in your devices "Recent Apps" list:
http://developer.android.com/guide/components/recents.html

The real test is to check your Android Settings -> Apps -> (swipe right to) Running ...

If you still see the App listed, I'll eat a bug, or devote my life to discovering right-handed neutrinos, or something icky.

Change Russian "выход" to "Выход" (first big later) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Change Russian word "выход" to "Выход" (first big later)? because it's looks annoying!
And add some settings like clean cache, history with Exit.
Now I prefer Clean Quit addon...

отличное. ok Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Хорошее дополнение. Почему нет этой кнопки по умолчанию в apk Firefox?

Its the best thing in firefox addon..

It was a fun little project :)

Realistically, this addon will probably fade-out from here on, as the recent versions of Firefox have the "Clear on exit" option under Settings -> Privacy, that if enabled, brings back the original "Quit" button !

Super

Firefox for Android Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately, this add-on is not quitting in the way one would expect. It only sends you to the launcher it seems. I am baffled as to why there would not be an exit menu option anyway.

I am using QuitNow 1.18.06 with Firefox 33.1 on Android 4.1.1. After using the quit option, Firefox stays in memory as a cached process and does not seem to trigger the history, cache, etc. clearing that can be set in the Firefox settings.

The 1 star rating is specific to the version of QuitNow and Firefox & Android OS. Any similarity to other things that exist or not is purely coincidental... ;)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.18.06.1-signed.1-signed).

This is correct behaviour.

As pointed out in the description, Quit-Now was designed as a fast exit tool for FireFox users after Mozilla removed the item from the main menu.

Neither the original Firefox Quit option, nor this Add-on will clear Android Application history from your Launcher.

Recent versions of Firefox have brought back a Main Menu "Quit" option tied to the internal Sanitizer (History, etc). As this gains use, the need for this add-on (QuitNow) will diminish.

This is anticipated, and a good thing. Thank you Mozilla for bringing the integrated functionality back.

Good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Whenever any Addon is essentially used by many users, the same feature may be added as an update by Firefox.

Spartacus Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The quit button disappeared a while back when I updated firefox to version 32. It has yet to reappear, despite my efforts to repeatedly uninstall and reinstall Quitnow. Is this just me, or are we all waiting for a fix for this?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.18.06.1-signed.1-signed).

It's just you :-/

There's no outstanding issues at the moment. There was a bug with Firefox recently (see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1057685) but that's been fixed.

1) Make sure you have an updated version of Firefox from the Play store.
2) If you change any Android OS Settings, particularly in the Developer Options, make sure that "Don't keep Activities" is *NOT* checked.

3) If you still have an issue, email me at my address located nearby in my profile.

Sorta Works Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Works nicely to shut FF (32) completely on mobile device (Android 4.4.2). However the drop-down Quit button keeps vanishing (often after reboot), and can only be restored by disabling then re-enabling the add-on. Bug?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.18.06.1-signed.1-signed).

Check Android Settings

Firefox has issues with addons and won't work properly, if you have changed your Android Settings -> Developer Options -> Don't keep Activities to be "checked" or true.
