I'm with Dave Rove - it seems very dodgy that an add-on developer invites you back to his place to get an add-on that works. Why the heck isn't there a Mozilla hosted solution to something so simple?
Anybody know of a Mozilla hosted favicon changer? Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I've no idea about addon code, but I unzipped it and looked in it. And for example, there was and "update link" to "https://bit.ly/1iMXh3b" which loaded a file with a whole bunch of new urls. Probably all perfectly innocent. But I'd rather trust Mozilla because at least we know who they are. i s there really no way that this could be done through proper channels?
Thanks! It works great now! Except for the updating, but I still love it! Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Now if it would stop updating (twice) any time I watch a movie, it will be perfect!

2 years later, it stil shows a nonsense useless popup with regularly saved bookmarks that pops over firefox windows & even flash videos out of the blue & irregularly. issue reported a year ago .. . same issue with v2.15 .. .
Amazing must have addon! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Awesome addon, can't live without it! I've actually been stuck using FF 20.0.1 for the past year precisely because the devs broke this addon. Today I came very close to switching to Chrome because of this (and still might). A year is a long time to go without an update, particularly where security is concerned. Favicons are a basic part of the browsing experience, so I don't understand why management abilities haven't been added to FF by now. The lack of such a feature is like not having the means to bookmark a website. Anyways thank you, sonthakit, for this addon and not giving up despite the resistance you experienced from the FF devs! ;)
It's back! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
It may be a small thing, but this extension is very useful to me and I'm very glad it has returned.
Back Again - hooray Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Great to see this back again, despite Mozilla's best efforts to put off developers like Sonthakit. Being a bit OCD it really grates having the odd site in my bookmark bar without an icon, especially as I only use the icons - no text.
I had resorted to a really tedious manual way of changing missing favicons but now it can once again been done simply in seconds. Many thanks.
It was a hard last year... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

You soooo author customers
I love you.
Thank you for!
I can change the favicon. And I am very happy to be altered for the first time in a long time.
Mozilla should be more gentle to the specification change.
Thanks to the author like again.

I don't use this on a daily basis, but it is fun to do so...
Good. Needs new version on Mozilla site. Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This add-on is a good way to make your favicons more meaningful to you if they happen to be too bland (or non-existent).
When is the new version coming onto the Mozilla site?
One of the TOP 5 add-ons Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I am very pleased to have the Favicon Changer working again. I had used it for years, and missed it terribly. Many thanks, sonthakit for bringing it back. I would gladly donate, if you start accepting contributions.

Bookmark favicon changer Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Thank you so much :):):) I was starting to fear it was impossible to do this and then someone directed me here. It works and finally everything looks the way I was hoping for. It was super easy to change those folder icons and now everything is easier for me to locate.
It Works! (again) Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Thankfully, it's been updated! I held off upgrading Firefox from 21.0, as I couldn't stand the browser without this (as I've used it extensively with nameless folders and favicon-less sites, so my bookmarks toolbar is a multi-row collage of icons, and breaking the add-on was unacceptable to me.)
I'm not technically knowledgeable enough to understand why it broke before and wasn't easily fixed, but I'm glad to see the author chose to resume supporting/updating it. I didn't know how much I NEEDED it until it (sort of) went away.
Anyways, it and Firefox updated just fine - nothing lost (apparently upgrading Firefox with the old version permanently lost the custom icons, which I was wary of when updating.)
I a) installed the current version of the add-on (2.12) from the dev's site, then b) closed Firefox and upgraded from 21.0 to 26.0, and c) re-launched Firefox. All my custom favicons are still there and the add-on works (from the user's perspective) just the same as before.
Still a problem with Xmarks syncing Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Sadly, it seems there is still an issue with BMC favicons syncing through X-Marks. Does anyone have a solution?
I have designated the location of default folder for my favicons on my computers through BFC preferences panel on each computer.
Hope somebody can offer a useful tip so I can re-rate this back up to 5-stars.
Due to custom favicons for bookmarks and folders are not standard, they are applied methods. So, the other add-ons that do bookmark synchronizing such as firefox Sync, SeaMonkey Sync, Xmarks or FEBE may not understand this. They may not kind to your custom favicons and nothing I can do about this.
BEST ADD-ON EVER !!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Thank you so much for making this work again!
After several months without this, I now know that this is the best FF add-on ever.

Neither version 2 or version 2.10 from the unofficial site are NOT working in Firefox Nightly 22.0a1 (2013-03-23).
Is it possible to fix?
