wow a new twist on citation tools Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Though I don't imagine you consider this to be a citation tool :)

At what site quantity load would one experience some fox sluggishness if at all?

I just installed SiteDelta and I really that it's a very powerful Addon and that I'll use it a lot.
Just a small idea: It would be pretty cool if all sites would be scanned when you click on the SiteDelta icon with the scroll of your mouse.
I saw this for example here: http://sitedelta.schierla.de/features.en.php or https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/4808

This would be pretty cool!

Good, but not perfect. Sometimes has false alarms. In any case, the UI is unintuitive - who would have thought you'd have to open the sidebar to stop tracking a page?

Good, but no obvious way to remove a site once you no longer wish to track changes.

Awesome plug-in. I searched for quite a while before I found this one.

comparing with Update Scanner, it's better. But "scan or ignore regions" is a confusing function ----- if I set a scan region, all parts except this region SHOULD be ignored, so do I have to set some "ignore regions"?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.11.1).

Scan / Ignore Regions

Adding one scan region is enough if you want to scan only one region of the page. But if this region contains parts you don't want to scan, you can use additional ignore regions to exclude these.

Perfect addon. Replaced "update scanner" with it too. It wins not only by functionality (regions), but by interface and clever implementation of all it's features.

Excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add-on is one of the best in its category. I have switched from Update Scanner because SiteDelta has more facilities and is able to find updates to specific regions of the page.
Although the developer has tried to make this add-on as intuitive as possible I found it necessary sometimes to refer to the web site ‘features’ tab for help with specific functions .........
http://sitedelta.schierla.de/features.en.php
The Watch & Ignore Regions facility is excellent when, for instance, you require update notifications for a specific thread within a forum page.
I do not understand why this add-on is not more popular. I did not find it within search results when searching Updates & Alerts using search terms like 'updates' or 'alerts' or 'notifications' but found it from recommendations of others within the user reviews of other add-ons within that category. I guess this is down to the search words that the developer has chosen like 'change' & 'update' instead of 'updates' & 'notify'. SiteDelta is also an excellent name but does not immediately inform the user what the add-on is about.
If you like pop up notifications you may find the 4sec display too short. This can changed via the Firefox about:config setting in alerts.totalOpenTime but be aware this will affect the time that pop ups are open globally in Firefox.
Support is also among one of the best that I have come across recently.
Give the add-on a test run. It is all down to personal preferences but I do not think that you will be disappointed. The only problem that I found when comparing Update Scanner / Brief / SiteDelta was that Update Scanner would lock up Firefox completely when opening a link, so I would recommend disabling Update Scanner before using SiteDelta as there seem to be some incompatibility issues. This may perhaps be down to the combination of add-ons that I have and not affect you. Brief rss reader though seems to work quite happily alongside SiteDelta.

Brilliant stuff. Would be nice to delete items in the left hand meny by del, not ctrl+del.

Great Addon! I used "Update Scanner" a long time (which is good, too), but SideDelta is much better. The only negative is that it doesn't work with the "javascript.options.jit.chrome" enabled in "about:config". If it scans a page my Firefox freezes for about 10-30 seconds. See here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/JavaScript:TraceMonkey

Thanks for this bug report

This problem with "javascript.options.jit.chrome" enabled is caused by Firefox bug 502058 which should be fixed in one of the next Firefox releases.

Klasse Erweiterung, die viel Zeit sparen hilft.

Ich würde mir noch eine zusätzliche Benachrichtungsart über email wünschen.

Better than Update Scanner and Follow That Page. I would recommend this to anyone. Far more options are provided here than those other addons.
I would like a cleaner GUI but even so, this is the best

Great! What I would like to see though is more options on field sensitivity. The number ignore feature is good, but on news sites, it divides single lines into different fields and is too quick too pick up on picayune changes. I do appreciate this addon though. It's probably one of the more complex ones to make, so I feel a little guilty giving 4 stars vs 5 stars that might go to simpler programs, but I wanted to catch your attention. Thank you.

Most feature complete site monitor Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've tried all site monitors I came accross:

follow that page
update scanner
sitedelta

Without a doubt sitedelta is the best one. It contains the option of only scanning certain sections of the pages and so it can easily ignore banner swap, irrelevant advertisements etc focusing on changes to content that matters to you.

My only suggestions are to add the capability to ignore number changes and to make the interface more intuitive.

This simple, but power tool makes monitoring sites simpler.

Thank you for the very useful extension.

Go Back To The Old Version? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I see what you are trying to do with this new iteration of Site Delta but it seems to be making everything unreadable. The prior version of Site Delta was beautiful and nice and simple (which is what this type of extension should be). I've had to change to the "Update Scanner" extension.

Re: Go Back To The Old Version?

I try to add new features in a non-desturbing way, so that you can go on using the new version just the way you used the old version as long as you don\'t need any of the new features. So going back to old versions should not be required.
