Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a must have for anyone who does serious Internet searches. I do accounting research for a living and SearchWP saves me time and saves my eyesight. :)

Only 1 problem I can see: the Contribute button does not work. :) Given the use I get out of this extension, I am disappointed that I can not support its development.

Feature Request Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great add-on
There are a few things, specially point 1, that could be further incorporated:
1) Wildcard support - I often use wildcards like 'polymer*' to search in Google.
However SearchWP actually searches for the word polymer followed by a star.
It is functionally essential that this behavior be changed.
2) Support for more than five colors required for additional search terms
3) If a search term is not present in the page, the corresponding button should be greyed out.
4) Scroll bar highlighter (with corresponding colors) - This would be totally awesome.
5) Compatibility with Foobar, Omnibar or similar add-ons.

Easier way to implement workaround Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks to Khun Roger for this workaround. His modification worked perfectly for this indispensable add-on. I found an even easier way to implement it:

1. Open the xpi file in 7zFM.exe.
2. Navigate to chrome > searchwp.jar > content. You don't have to extract or rename anything.
3. Right-click searchbox.xml and choose Edit.
4. Make the replacement that Khun Roger describes, window.getBrowser().fastFind --> gBrowser.selectedTab.linkedBrowser.fastFind.
5. Save the edited file and accept 7-Zip's prompt to update it in the archive.
6. Exit 7-Zip and again accept the prompt to update the archive.
7. Install the modified xpi.

FF 25 Workaround by Khun Roger working good Rated 4 out of 5 stars

FF 25 Workaround Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I used "7zip" to extract files and "Notepad-Plus-Plus" to edit a file.

1. Use 7zip to extract everything from "searchwp-2.6.2-fx.xpi".
2. Leave the 7zip window open.
3. In extracted folder "chrome", use another instance of 7zip to extract everything from "searchwp.jar".
4. Leave this 7zip window open also.
5. In extracted folder "content", use Notepad++ (the text editor) to edit "searchbox.xml".
6. At about line 402, change this line:
var fastFind = window.getBrowser().fastFind;
to this:
var fastFind = gBrowser.selectedTab.linkedBrowser.fastFind;
7. Save the new "searchbox.xml".
8. In the 7zip window that is open for "searchwp.jar", click on folder "content" so that the original "searchbox.xml" is displayed in the list of folders and files.
9. In Windows Explorer, drag the new "searchbox.xml" onto this 7zip window. This will update "searchbox.xml" in "searchwp.jar".
10. Close this 7zip window.
11. In the 7zip window that is open for "searchwp-2.6.2-fx.xpi", click on folder "chrome" so that the original "searchwp.jar" is displayed.
12. In Windows Explorer, drag the new "searchwp.jar" onto this 7zip window. This will update "searchwp.jar" in "searchwp-2.6.2-fx.xpi".
13. Close this 7zip window.
14. Install the new, updated "searchwp-2.6.2-fx.xpi" in Firefox 25.

The only problem I have found is that the "minimum length" option doesn't work - all words of any length are searchable.

Can't highlight Drop Down List in some case Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this addon.
The 2.6.2 version can not highlight the content of Drop Down Menu, but 2.5.0 version can.
Example, the contents under the menu " Extensions | Personas | Theme …" in this page.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.6.2.1-signed.1-signed).

Before version 2.6.0, SearchWP used an own searcher on highlighting, and the native finder on single term searching (by clicking buttons). Those searchers where inconsistent with each other in too many cases.
Since version 2.6.0 we use the native finder on highlighting too.

See Firefox related bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63928

Even if we can reconsider to highlight in listboxes/option lists, it could be easier to create a separate extension to enhance similar form controls.

Vraiment Top Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Even better than what did Google toolbar before! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Since Google toolbar was no more Firefox compatible, I regretted its function of highlighting search words... now I'm thrilled I've find out an alternative with this add-on that even does a better job cuz jump-to-words buttons are directly embedded in the google search bar so it doesn't take up space and leaves an uncluttered browser unlike the former Google toolbar that needed to use the add-on bar to show jump-to-words buttons.
