A lot of add-ons for any purpose are published nowadays for Firefox, but it's hard to find a very useful one like this. You've realized a really good job, developer !!! Thank you so much.

While this addon is a much needed boost to the Firefox printing capability, I have yet to figure out how to delete blank pages produced by editing. It is NOT clear to me how you delete a blank page. Where is the delete button found in this interface to specifically do that? Perhaps the author can clarify how to delete blank pages while in editing mode. While editing, I see the blank page. but no way to delete it. I've tried Tools-Fix Page Breaks, but that does nothing. It would seem to me that there should be a "delete page button" somewhere, but it obviously escapes me. I'm tired of opening Acrobat to do something this simple. Please enlighten me. This would appear to be a very necessary addon for Firefox.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.10).

Try using the Page Break format property ...

The 'Tools > Fix Page Breaks' command is designed to fix some specific bugs in the Firefox Print/Preview functionality, which cause blank pages and truncated pages, even when printing without any editing.

Blank pages that are the result of editing can often be removed using the 'Page Break' property in the 'Format' command's popup panel. Use 'Select > Select All' to select the whole web page, click the ‘Format’ button to open the ‘Format’ panel, enable the ‘Page Break’ property checkbox and set the value to ‘not inside’, disable all of the ‘Controls’ checkboxes, and click the ‘OK’ button.

If this does not work, then please send a link to the problematic web page and a saved file of the edited web page (preferably .mht format) to: dw-dev@gmx.com.

Nice extension! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

hi, this is really a good extesion. However, I just have a problem. Sometimes, the page header which shows the html's name and url, at the top of the page, will overlay the content. Is there a way to remove the header, or just adjust the margins? Any help will be appreciated.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.10).

Use Page Setup in print preview

You can adjust the page margins as follows:
- Select “File > Print Preview” to enter print preview window.
- Click on “Page Setup” button and then select "Margins & Header/Footer" tab.
- Change the Top/Left/Right/Bottom margins as required.
- Note: margin values will be in inches or millimetres, depending on the page size (e.g. Letter or A4).

Print Edit is one of those add-ons that make you wonder why Mozilla isn’t offering the feature in the first place.

It gives you the ability edit and choose exactly what to print, using a simple, straightforward interface.

Highly recommended!

It is perfect to get printed what you wish, but... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

... suddenly i have a little problem.

Working under Win XP (latest), FF 32.0.3 and PrintEdit (latest), now i can't switch the page zoom in "Save as PDF" area.

All choices of fixed percentage are restored immediately to "fit to page".
So I can't select 50% (for example).

Normal printing works perfect.

What can I do?

Thanks a lot, many regards
Thomas

Fixed in Version 12.10

This problem is fixed in Version 12.10.

(You can set the Scale and Orientation using the print preview toolbar buttons or the Page Setup dialog)

Perfect for Trimming Down Emails to Print Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using this add-on for over a year now. Sometimes I have to print emails at work but only want to print one of the emails in the chain or cut down on lengthy or excessive signatures. Print Edit works perfect for this.

Print Edit is absolutely BRILLIANT! .. and it keeps getting better with each rev.

Anyone who is doing research on the web - and wanting to create nicely formatted and printable (or simply readable) documents, whether as .pdf or directly printed, from any website content - is going to LOVE Print Edit.

The documentation is quite thorough, and the program/plug-in is largely self-documenting anyway; you see the results of your edits/changes/adjustments onscreen, in preview mode.

Print Edit is a GODSend. The support is amazing - for Firefox a compatible version is usually immediately available when any FF revisions are released. I would definitely PAY for this - and whatever I can spare for a donation does not compensate for the value that I receive from this first-rate plugin. I am a software dev of significant experience btw - these folks are the real-deal.

This is a wonderfully useful add-on! For example, if you wish to save a longer thread on Facebook to a PDF, that would look pretty awful with the normal print function, but with Print Edit, you can select just the element contaning the conversation and den select to delete everything else (tip: Be sure to expand all See More and the like before entering Print Edit mode). This really makes it much easier to look up that important information again while out and about or maybe months from now when it would have scrolled too far away in the stream of content. I'm quite impressed with how smooth it worked, once I got the hang of it (i.e. delete everything else from the menu in stead of individually deleting elements).

Lets you print 'As laid out on the screen'! Yay!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When graphics on web pages disappear in Print Preview and the print "as laid out on the screen" option is missing, this wonderful add-on lets you do just that by clicking the 'Edit' button and then selecting the 'Web Style' option. Works like a charm! Kudos and hats off to the inventor of this great add-on.

Print as pdf doesnt't work on Ubuntu Linux

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.8).

Please provide more information .....

Re-tested Print Edit 12.8 with Firefox 32.0 on Ubuntu 12.04 and Make/Save PDF works fine.

Please can you provide the following information:
- Is it just the Make/Save PDF feature that does not work?
- Exactly what happens when you click on the Save PDF button?
- Which version of Firefox are you using?
- Which version of Print Edit are you using?

Update: There is a new version (12.9) of Print Edit available which may fix this problem.

FF crashed Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Halo, PrintEdit Developer.

While FF is displaying this page ( http://www.srsroot.com/supported ), I activate this addon.

FF becomes 'not responding'.

What is the problem ?
Is the page too long ?
Can you try ?

Thanks

Problem is in Firefox not Print Edit

Even if Print Edit is disabled, Firefox is unable to display this web page in its print preview window, so this problem is Firefox not in Print Edit.

Most Useful Extension Ever! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I use this every day - several times a day. In fact, printing from IE is now totally intolerable - when I have to use IE and need to print, I always save the page and re-open in Firefox. Thanks for a great extension!!

Maybe i'm blaming an apple for not being an orange, but... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I wanted to be able to edit html pages for later viewing, not printing. For that purpose it's a dead loss. It can't do that, or GUI hides/complexifies the task, or needs extra explanation.
Certainly the text selection is an unergonomic confusing mess. I tried the simple basic task of selecting a paragraph and selecting it. Didn't get to square one. Whatever it does or doesn't do, the selection is *not* simple click > drag > click to select an area.
Whatever the truth of the matter, it is a nerdy little applet.

Later, re the developers reaction- ok, so Print Edit wasn't meant to be a fully functional HTML editor. Fair enough. But what is [seriously]? I could sure one. As to usability, "Print Edit is easy to use". Sorry, i must smile.
I think Microsh*t has conditioned us all to levels of complexity [and unreliability, tho not with this extension] that many of us are so nerdy we honestly think that we're not nerdy at all.
Anyway, this nerdy apple isn't the non-nerdy orange i'd hoped it was, so i upped my rating. :) Fair enough?

Wrongly identified fruit gets blame ....

The primary purpose of Print Edit is to allow you to edit a web page prior to printing, in order to remove unwanted content such as adverts, sidebars and blank pages, which saves on printer paper and ink cartridges. Print Edit is not meant to be a precise or fully functional HTML editor.

Print Edit is simple to use, although the Format Properties are intended for more advanced users. Perhaps you should try following the steps in the Getting Started section of the add-ons homepage: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/print-edit/

Print Edit solves a real problem for many users. Nerdy? No!

At last I have the print preview button on my toolbar. And print edit is just an added bonus. Thank you.
