It generally shows up to 5 competing websites. Occasionally it shows the wrong product on the other websites. The one thing I wish to God they'd add is the ability to simply rightclick the icon and disable the addon completely! It really slows down the loading of webpages beyond all hope. So navigating between pages I've already viewed becomes a waiting game. It's absurd that I have to open my addons, drill down to the pricelink addon before I can choose to enable or disable it. At least it doesn't require a FF restart.

Finds alternative prices but does not save user settings Rated 3 out of 5 stars
PriceBlink is basically working, but every time I launch Firefox, the extension behaves as if it was just installed for the first time:
Follow the steps below to verify your installation...
PriceBlink is now active
Use PriceBlink as my default search provider
Im really getting tired of having to tell PriceBlink that I do not want it to hijack my Search Bar settings. Also the toolbar button keeps returning at browser launch, even after I removed it. [FF Mac 26.0]
Thanks for reporting this issue. You appear to have stumbled across a bug as it's not our intent to show you the installation page or search offer more than once. You should see this behavior the first time and never again.
I recently helped another user that was using Dropbox to backup his Firefox profile folder. It turns out that this was causing his extensions directly to become read-only. Once this happened PriceBlink was unable to save any information and it triggered the behavior you describe.
I'd like to help you resolve this issue asap. Please feel free to reach out to me directly and we can work through it together. My email address is email@example.com
We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to getting this issue resolved.
No help on Amazon.com Rated 2 out of 5 stars
This review is only about how PriceBlink behaved on Amazon.com. (That was so discouraging that I didn't try it anywhere else.)
During a browsing session on Amazon, PriceBlink showed lower prices for only 6 of about 40 items. The "best price" for all the other items was higher, mostly by $2-3. In one case, PriceBlink showed a best price of $17.28 for an Amazon item priced at $2.98. The 6 items for which PriceBlink did show lower prices were very cheap anyway -- Amazon price $2.50-4.00 -- and PriceBlink's lower price was only a few cents less.
Not a keeper for me.
If I understand you correctly, you're wondering why PriceBlink shows prices that are higher than the price shown on the page you were viewing. If so, that's because you've already found the lowest price on that item.
PriceBlink checks prices from over 11,000 retailers whenever you're shopping. If a lower price is available, it will show you those prices. However, if you've already found the lowest price, PriceBlink confirms that you've found the lowest price, and lets you know where else you can buy the item. This is helpful in the event the product you are viewing is out of stock or you discover additional shipping charges after adding the item to your cart.
If you're disappointed because PriceBlink couldn't find a lower price, please realize that we don't set the prices -- we merely scan all the prices available on a product and let you know who has the lowest price. If you feel like we missed a lower price that we should have reported, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can investigate.

I installed this add-on mostly to test out for a collection I have and have ended up loving it. Not only does it show you what vendor/store has a lower price for the same item, you can also link directly to that vendor/store and if coupons or price breaks are available, it shows that as well. When not shopping, you don't even know you have it. It stays quietly in browser/tool bar until you need it. Awesome add-on!! Thank you so muchThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.0). This user has a previous review of this add-on.

I like everything except the addon showing up in my google search results.
Please at least allow me to stop it from showing up on google.com

In a rush to purchase a new laptop before they all had Windows 8, I went onto Newegg because they usually give the best specs and because they usually have the most reviews, which I value highly, if there are enough of them. The listed price was $939.99. Up came PriceBlink, "This item may be purchased at Amazon.com for $619.99 + $6.99 shipping&handling (S&H). I think that there was no charge for S&H by Newegg. Well that was $314.00 saved. With that $314.00 I bought a 27" widescreen Acer for my desktop that was on a one-day sale (and it's great), a 1 TB USB3 Western Digital External HD (again aided by PriceBlink) for about $77 with S&H, since the laptop had USB3 ports, a very nice external DVD-RW and all of the new cables that I needed (my 23" monitor went from my desktop to the laptop). I still had a few dollars left to spend. Thank you PriceBlink! I have been relaying news of its existence to friends and they too have been saving money. None of them are the type of people who write reviews, but I know that they would all give PriceBlink 5 stars. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52).
Not bad for first few, then baloney Rated 4 out of 5 stars
First it let me know where to save money, then it let me know I already had the best price on a few items, then lying to me and telling me where I could buy the product for a little more than one third of the price. Turns out its not even close to the same product model. Example: Search for Veho VCC-005-MUVI-HD10 Muvi HD 1080p on Amazon and it tells you you can buy this $139.95 product for $59 "buy it now" price on Ebay. Unfortunately the product they cite is the "Veho muvi Pro DV Camcorder" which you can buy on Amazon for $54.12 in the first place.
UPDATE: They apparently have fixed the anomaly and were very polite in their response, and all this on a Sunday. I'll give it another try. They shouldn't take the blame when Amazon puts up a wrong UPC.
We've fixed the issue...
You are right, PriceBlink showed you a product that was not a match. It turns out that Amazon.com has the wrong UPC code for that product, which is why the toolbar displayed the wrong product (you'll note that it was a slightly different model in the same product line). Anyway, that shouldn't have happened, and we've corrected the issue.
PriceBlink is one of the most accurate price comparison services in the market, but in rare cases it mismatches products. I hope you'll continue to use the toolbar and am confident that you'll find it to be quite accurate over time.
In the meantime, if you find any more mismatches like the one you reported, please let us know by contacting our support team directly. You'll notice that inside the "Compare Prices" list, there is a "Send us feedback" link where you can let us know if we've made a mistake.

May link to unsafe sites Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Just popped up a site that McAfee siteadviser warned was not safe. When using this add-on also use sietadvisor and world of trust because PriceBlink apparently doesn't filter out sites that might be a threat.
Update: Based on email reply from Priceblink, It appears that SiteAdvisor kicked up a false positive and Pricelink does filter sites for threats. That said, Pricelink did show a price on a different item...a blade instead of a complete blender. That stuff happens..if the price is way below market, suspect a mismatch. I'll continue to use Priceblink and appreciate the follow-thru.
Do you mind contacting us at email@example.com and letting us know what site was unsafe? We do make certain that we only include approved merchants in our results. Thank you.
Great Money Saver Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I am a college student with a small part time job to help fund me. I use price blink on a daily basis for everything I buy. I love the outdoors, but gear is expensive. Price blink not only gives me competitor's prices, but coupons for the site I am on.
An improvement that I want would be a list of those competitor's coupons as well. Having the ability to see those competitor coupons would give me the capability of checking the prices for all companies, faster.
My review on PriceBlink - Automatic Price Comparison & Coupons Rated 4 out of 5 stars
The best thing i’d love about these add-ons is that i got a add-on named ‘PriceBlink – Automatic Price Comparison & Coupons 3.4′.This add-on is amazing that I have to really thank the developers. My shopping experience almost changed.Everytime I see for a product online and go on searching for a lower rate all over the web.I feel tired and end up with a available price for that product. But now I can search the store online and even with the coupons provided I can get some amount of discount.
-Easy comparision of prices.
-More stores online.
-All types of books.
-No local stores.
-The stores provided are not available to some places.
Excluding all the cons, this add-on is amazing. Thanks to the developers.
Final Advice:I strongly recommend this add-on.
Please make the new toolbar icon optional Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is a fantastic addon, but I have one gripe with the recent versions because they force you to have a PriceBlink toolbar icon which doesn't even seem to do anything other than adding the current item to a wishlist. Each time I remove the icon, it returns when I restart Firefox. This is not okay. I understand that modern browsers are moving away from having status bars and toward having addon icons in your toolbar (which, frankly, is an atrocious design philosophy to begin with, as you simply end up with a cluttered mess of icons taking away toolbar real estate which often only serve a single function, such as this new PB icon). However, I beg of you, please make this icon *optional*. Some of us have Firefox configured so that we have can continue to have a status bar with the lower-right corner designated for these types of icons. And even then, it should only be there if it's actually useful, which this new PB icon is not, I'm sorry to say. And it should *never*, *ever* be forced upon us. Thanks. Otherwise, this is one of those addons I simply cannot live without. Keep up the great work.
Edit: I couldn't find a reply link, so I'll respond to the developer here. I was trying to remove the icon the same way I'd remove any other, which is by right-clicking the toolbar, selecting customize, and dragging it off. Each time I'd restart Firefox, though, it would reappear, which led me to believe that it was a forced option. I found the navigation bar option and unchecked it, and it's gone now. Thank you for your prompt reply. I checked there before writing this review, but didn't see it. I'll go ahead and bump my review up from 4 stars to 5 stars, as this was honestly the only issue I had with the addon, and I apologize for the misunderstanding. Everything else about it is fantastic.
How are you removing the toolbar icon?
We appreciate your thorough feedback and that's certainly not how we intended for this feature to work. Do you mind letting us know how you're disabling the PriceBlink toolbar icon? We've added an option to remove this by going to your PriceBlink add-on preferences. This can normally be found by accessing Tools > Add-ons > PriceBlink > Preferences. There will be a preference near the bottom that says "Show in Navigation Bar". After unchecking this box it should remove the icon until you check it again. Please let us know if that's not the behavior you're seeing. Thanks!

Best addon in my arsenal, for sure. If you're not convinced by big endorsements like Lifehacker and About.com, then just try it yourself and you'll see why they praise Priceblink so much. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.3). This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
can be toggled Rated 5 out of 5 stars
i likey :D
a suggestion to the new user; the interface can be toggled by hitting the "x" on the far right of the PriceBlink bar. i wish that could have been explained to me on initial use, i almost went with another price checking extension because PriceBlinks' constant presence was starting to get annoying.
Thank you for the review and we're glad you figured out how to toggle PriceBlink. This is something we introduced in version 3.0 based on input from our users. If you have any future suggestions please feel free to let us know.

I have been using priceblink for over a year now, and it has only gotten better. It's unobtrusive til you need it and includes shipping costs in its comparisons. I rarely come across a site it doesn't support. This addon will definitely help you say goodbye to 'buyer's remorse'! Hands down one of my must-have firefox/chrome extensions. Five stars. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.3).
