It installs, but the author provides no instruction on how to actually USE this utility. Puntuado con 1 de 5 estrellas

It's intalled; it just doesn't OPEN. I right-click, I use Options, I explore every menu listing. NOTHING. There isn't so much as a one-sentence instruction for how to actually USE this addon. I GIVE UP.

Surely you can't be serious!

Did you read the addon description at the top of the addon page that says "Does everything ... To use: Right click in a real HTML table for the "tabletools2" option."? I understand that you might not want to watch a demo video (which frankly is well worth it. I put in a lot of time to make it, it's most certainly worth a bit of your time to watch it), but that description was only 2 sentences.

BTW note it's right click inside a "real HTML table". It's TableTools2. It doesn't sort just any webpage. I don't clutter your browser's context menu when you click on something that TT2 doesn't work on. Any programmer that displays a context menu item EVEN WHEN their addon doesn't work under that situation is a BAD programmer. Period.

awesome tool.. just created an account so i can rate this 5 stars! Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

thanks man.. appreciate the hard work that went into this.. maybe if you get a chance can you please add a "tick" for persistent filters that remain after page load (or next / back links).. that would be marvelous.. but this extn is just amazing.. kudos!

Thanks! This feature had been requested before, but it's impossible to implement reliably: the page could change (some tables gone), the table could change (the same sorted column might have heading change or even disappear), and with dynamic pages, you can't just remember URL and table positions to even find the right table. Sorry but it can't be done ...

Great component, easy to install and right click, it works as a charm.

Please reconsider your rating - would 5-star be a better fit if this addon is working very well for you? Thanks.

Just want to make a suggestion: add a "TT2 Options" button in FF "Tools" drop down menu. This would make it easier to access the options.

TT2 is a very useful and powerful add-on!

Thanks! However, it's neither practical or faster to put options in Tools. Not practical because there could be many HTML tables on a webpage, when you access "sort" from tools, which table and which column should be sorted? Not faster because many people nowadays don't have menu bar displayed. It takes 2 clicks (with much mouse traveling) just to get to TT2 options, if it were in Tools.

my son uses it, he says it's great

Thanks a lot!

A little suggestion: option to flag "table with no headers" (or nonstandard headers, undetectable by TableTools) to sort/filter since the first row.Example with "error" (first row treated as a header):

I'm Brazilian, and pt-BR of this extension confused me.
"Sort/Filter Row starts from clicked row" was translated as "Sort/filter only rows below" ("Restringir ordenação/filtro às linhas abaixo"), should be "Ordenar/filtrar a partir desta linha".
Similarly, menuitem.sort.up.only should be "Ordenar/filtrar até esta linha".

There is actually already a way of dealing with this: Right click in the first row of the table, choose TableTools2->Other->"Sort/Filter Row starts from clicked row". This will allow you to sort the entire table (albeit due to the lack of a proper first row to detect sorting direction, you have to click twice to sort again in a different direction).

My old TableTools addon had the option to allow table with no headers, but in TT2 I thought, why not allow user to set it on-the-fly for specific tables instead of going to Options to change it for all tables? Hence the context menu item.

Most Valuable Add-on Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

The main reason I use Firefox is that this add-on exists. Without it, I would consider other browsers.

Thanks for the ultimate compliment an addon could get!

Must have Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Exceptional tool. Most of the table to csv like tools miserably fail even with slightly complicated html tables, so I used to use xpath to grab html and feed results to excel. TableTools2 gets it right on the spot, one even can do inplace data analysis and charting. Great great great tool.

An unexpected Evernote tool Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

I love Evernote, but it is very fussy when it comes to tables. This addon helps save a lot of frustration, especially if you like to change the way the data is sorted before posting it in a new note. Excellent!

Follow-up Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

I found that TableTools2 suddenly had disappeared.
Turns out that in "synchronizing extensions" between two machines, I had Book Text Mark" extension enabled.
Apparently there is an incompaibility with TT2 not showing up in the context menu any more.
Since I don't need to bookmark "a text within a long page" too often,I disabled BTM and ... TT2 is back.

Hmm, I tried installing BTM and it seemed fine. TT2 still showed up in context menu. I wonder if some other addon's actually causing BTM disabling TT2 in context menu?

Quick and easy Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Works as intended when copying an entire table and select cells if you're using keyboard shortcuts. Deleting unnecessary columns from an entire table is much faster than: 1.) manually entering information 2.) writing an Excel macro after exporting table data with Outwit. One downside is that TableTools2 doesn't always recognize tables in the sense that right-clicking doesn't show a menu, shortcuts still seem to work ( for example). This is a great addon for quick data entry when using the text import wizard to paste HTML data does not produce a table. You can fully customize keyboard shortcuts. In my opinion the default Ctrl+Q and then holding left mouse button while dragging over cells of interest is most useful - although quirky at times, without changing selection method...

Thanks for your review. The elliptical page you pointed out disabled Firefox context menu altogether, so naturally TT2 did not show up on context menu, as the menu itself didn't show. While technically I should be able to bring back your context menu despite that a website is preventing it using their javascript, this is beyond the scope of TT2 and there are already other addons doing this, like Right to Click. So I suggest either using shortcut like you did or using other addons that bring back context menu.
