Great for people that work with too many passwords.

Thanks a lot to the developper, I just changed desktop environnement to cinnamon / linux and thunderbird asked me just 7 times the master password ... (

Excellent work V@no

Works well. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

UPDATE: I believe the password requests were coming from Thunderbird and NOT this extension. If you are having trouble with password dialogue box floods, you can disable your master password by going to Tools > Options > Security > Passwords and UNcheck the master password option. Leaving my full review up in case anyone else has trouble with Thunderbird.

This extension worked great the first couple of days. Now, it continues to spam me, asking me for a password. I've messed with the settings, and even uninstalled it at this point, yet I keep getting flooded with dialogue boxes "Password Required: Please enter the master password for the Software Security Device."

Use Master Password+ if you really need a password for Thunderbird, and if you're willing to deal with the flood. Otherwise, avoid.

UPDATE: Again, the flood came from Thunderbird's master password option and NOT the Master Password+ extension.

Esto es lo mejor de lo mejor, lo que buscaba era bloquear mi firefox cada vez que lo intentara abrir y para poder desbloquearlo para usarlo tenia que poner una clave. Esta genial! :D

I am very satisfied with this module.

I would appreciate an option to flush to password cache selectively for each group (POP/IMAP and or SMTP)

Also I noticed a problem with the "seen" indicator. This extension interferes with the message "seen" indicator. Most latest messages are displayed as not "seen" whereas they have been seen before.

Bug Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Why addon for FF and TB block windows of FF and TB when I'm working on my comp, but not in FF or TB? I think timer of not activity works wrong - it counts time for not activity of FF or TB, but in right logic it must count time of not activity of all comp - starts on last click of mouse or last key press on keyboard

There is a checkbox "Only if inactive" in "Auto-logout" and "Lock" section of the settings.

Next time please use support website or email to submit bug reports, not review.
Thank you.

Very Dissatisfied Screwed up my computer Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I can't tell you what a mess this add on was to me. I installed it early this morning. I knew soon after it was not for me, but I had already entered a master password. uninstalled. Not many minutes later, maybe 5, i was asked for my master password by that same add on that I had uninstalled. : O It was not in my extensions and I had removed. I kept working on computer. Next thing I know all HECK broke loose. Firefox restarted and said all open tabs were pointing to a site with bad certificates, yellow warnings. I opened IE same thing all sites were not loading, stopped. I have now worked so far 12 HOURS STRAIGHT, backtracking, running about 6 scans, reinstalling IE, notepad, etc, It literally allowed something to attack my system and I was infected at every level. It blocked my previously downloaded malware. I had to go to portable. It messed up my registry.
I say IT because I did nothing else. I did not visit anywhere shady!. I was only on the download extensions/ add ons pages that was it.

This has been a hell of a day. I am sorry for this review but I am also ticked that I missed a whole day and sat here 12 hours. I can't even remember what all I changed, but with a degree in computer science it took me so far 12 hours to recover.

With a computer science degree you blame an extension that aids to built-in master password feature of the browser, the addon that was download from official repository where each addon goes through security checks and other compatibility check by PEOPLE?

Clearly you don't know what you are talking about here and decided to show to the world how clueless you are, instead of first contact the developer. Congrats.
If you read the description of the addon you'd find this:
"Disabling or uninstalling this addon will NOT delete your master password!"

Anyhow, please read this:

Any chance you can integrate this with "Secure Login" addon. I wish the SL had an open to open this addon.

It shuld work when addon "minimize to tray" is installed

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (

It would work if the "minimize to tray" addon worked properly. MinTrayR doesn't give any information when a window minimized to tray or restored, in fact there is no way even trace it at all.
I've already contacted the developer and he seemed to started working on that problem, but it didn't last long...

Don't use it for serious protection Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I have been using this plugin for more over a month now, I was satisfied with tis functionality, but today, I changed my master password, that I generated and saved into my pass manager. Unfortunately, I forgot to save my pass so I couldn't access my Thunderbird. All advices on the web was via error console tu reset the pass, but console is accessable only inside of unlocked Thunderbird.
So an idea came up to my mind and I found the extension files in my appdata folder, where I easily changed one file's path and no popup for password appeared afterwards > I reset my pass via error console.

Yes, and that's exactly what stated in the description.

Very usefull, but... not 100% working, no support anymore. Firefox Team guilty? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This add-on come to correct bad behavior of Firefox's master password manager. It gives you the possibility to customize it's use accordingly to your own needs.

I noticed that the author does not update the project since more than 1 year yet. I don't expect he will give continuation to it anymore...
It would be very nice, if this project could be forked, and at least the minor issues corrected.

A complaint to Firefox Project Management/Development:
Unfortunately, now-a-days product managers don't care about user needs nor to compatibility with prior versions, they must go for trends.
Developers must rush to build new versions, new features, a bunch of new crap, and aren't able to keep track of backwards compatibility.
Even the hard work of their colleagues, which give their time to build nice add-ons like this one, even this get's disregarded, and as a consequence, add-on functionality turn to be broken.
As a result, add-ons developers can't keep pace with Firefox's "high frequency" versioning, and stop production.

Who is losing in this process?
We, the users, exactly the target public, gets neglected, and loses in this process.
