KeePass Helper

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Does a simple job and does it well.

Too the two reviews below about omitting the trailing /:

You could presumably switch to "Show full URL" in the options, but I supose that could be messy if you have a visible title bar.

Bearing that in mind, I think I have a simple work around that would block the sort of attempt KuttKatrea refers to:

The addon inputs a space and a user definable spacer (default is "-") after the hostname.
If you add a space and whatever the spacer is to the end of the URL in the field Keepass matches for autotype (either the Title or URL) in lieu of a trailing slash then this should stop it matching any hostname longer but containing the one intended.

Very nice.

If I want to download a file that I can otherwise view in Firefox I'll "right click-save link as". I don't need to be forced to save a file in order to view it.

It's especially annoying with images.

British English Dictionary (Updated)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's a shame you can't reply to reviews except as a dev.

This dictionary isn't "fake" and does recognise common variations between US and British spellings (color - colour, artifact - artefact). I'm looking at them now.

Indeed (to be thorough) I copied and pasted this whole list into a text box: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:List_of_spelling_variants
And it got the vast majority correct.

The problem is people not following the instruction in the description:

"To enable, right-click in a multi-line text box, select "Languages", then "English / United Kingdom"."

If you don't do this Firefox will default to US English even if you have British English installed. I suppose this isn't the most obvious way of doing things. It would be better if Firefox asked upon installing a new dictionary which to use as default.

However, it does correctly recognise most common British spellings if it is set up correctly.

Just editing this negative review saying it doesn't work.
I managed to miss this for an embarrassingly long period of time: If you still get US spellings after installing this dictionary right click any in text box, click, select "English / United Kingdom".
Then enjoy typing colour properly to your hearts content.

FlashGot Mass Downloader

I used this for ages, but a mixture of too many updates, bloat and feature creep meant that I've recently removed it and started using Free Download Managers built in Firefox compatibility.
Not a bad add-on, just ott if you just want to use it as a link between Firefox and an external download manger.
