With so many reference items, the ability to add my own custom items, and a good forum base sharing custom items, this is a must have add-on for Firefox. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.0.2).
4 star rating because it has always performed exactly as described, until now. Dropping one star b/c Australis is here to stay, and addons should be updated to reflect the new changes and work with them.
With the removal of the status bar in Australis-based Firefox versions, I was able to still get it working through Firefox Nightly 31.0a1 64bit builds, both using the New Style as well as classic style in conjunction with the New Add-on bar addon.
However, with Firefox 32.0a1 Nightly 64bit build, this addon is now broken using both methods.
Just about perfect. If there was a way to disable the close button at the far left, it would be very close to perfect. Being able to skin the bar (as in change transparencies to match the tabbar) would make it absolutely perfect (for me anyway :P).This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5).
Yes, it is 'broken' in all Australis-based builds - b/c there is no statusbar anymore.
The only thing I can see the author doing is to have a popup that will show these options, much like the 'new style' setting, only have it pop up somewhere else from where the URL shows when hovering over links.
As it is, I'm rating the addon 5 stars because until Fx changed to Australis, this worked perfectly and flawlessly, and there is no reason to detract from the addon's score b/c of internal Fx changes.
I've used SM for a long time, and it handles all of my sessions (including 50+ tabs in multiple groups) flawlessly.
Thank you, Michael, for fixing recent issues with the dev build.
I have to say that, as a daily user of Thunderbird Daily (pun intended) as well as the nightly Lightning builds, I was pleasantly surprised to see this addon. It works exactly as specified, even with a 64bit build and 21 iterations after the maxVersion value specified in the addon.
I've already used it to file my first bug :P
This add-on is a godsend. Being a part of the bugzilla monitoring means I already know about the bug that WADA started about various GMail IMAP extensions, and I've been following it very closely. Until then, there is this.
2dlech - nice to know that this works as well as you say even in trunk builds which are my daily drivers :P
@SteveWeblin - you linked to the bbCode file instead lol
@Jundle - when are you planning on updating this? Or is it free domain again?
Great app! Supplements NoScript in blocking only what I want blocked. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.6.2).
Would love to see an option to automatically hide the compatibility button for addons that are already compatible with the current version of Mozilla product installed...
@speichenpower - your calling the devs as lazy across the board shows that you really don't test a lot of software - else you would realize that just because it works for *you* doesn't mean it works across the board. it takes more than one tester to narrow down idiosyncrasies....
@Netticat - you're missing the other half of the functionality of this tool - to report *working* addons that haven't been marked as compatible. I have numerous addons that I *know* work with the latest nightly builds (and I revert them to not working *when* they break). This tool is for a lot more than just hte current release version, and the casual user / infrequent tester....
Using version 0.9.2 on Fx 4b1, and I ma still getting errors with 3rd party cookies blocked.
However, having used this addon in the past, I can say it is a *wonderful* tool, great use of the ChrometoPhone API.
It asks you to change your search page from default to a "Google-powered Jundle" page. Other than that it still works as mentioned before. Therefore, app drops to 3 stars.
Please see http://forum.addonsmirror.net/index.php?showtopic=7308&view=findpost&p=38054 for my updated post regarding a neat trick to show inline errors and still use Spellbound to correct them.
Great little addon - a must have! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.10).
This is a must have for testers of alpha / beta versions of both Mozilla apps as well as addons to said apps.
Developer: If you are reading these, can you add a simple feature to not have *any* default profile, so that the profile manager always runs? Currently it either loads my default profile every time I start Fx or else it loads the previously loaded - and I want to see the profile manager as I have various profiles for various tasks....
Great extension for cookie control - I cannot live without it.
Great extension - a must have for Fx users of the sidebar. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.8).
But, here are a couple of tips for you to follow:
Basically, I bumped Spellbound II way back when but I guess Brent decided to rework the original one.
Still using this extra set of instructions make using it a lot easier, especially for us KB jockeys.
