Lightning
Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Sorry that this is kind of a rant, but my first use of Lightning for a while was quite the disappointment: When I try to sync my (ownCloud-)CalDav calendar, first, lots of notifications about past events pop up. I can click those away, so minor annoyance, but ok.
But then, apparently in a loop, messages appear about some changes being about to be synced to my server (I didn't change any of the events locally, so no idea why Lightning thinks they have changed, or changed them itself?). These messages keep on coming in a steady flow, making the program unusable. And even when I click through them (clicking the "Dont sync" option, as I didn't do any changes and therefore don't want anything to be changed, obviously), they reappare after a minute or so.
Meaning that with my CalDav calendar set up, Thunderbird becomes unusable because of reappearing popups.
I only did a quick search so far what could be the matter, but this behavior caused me to loose trust in Lightning, so I won't be using it again in the near future - why would it think my events were changed, or would change them itself? And even if there is a legitimate reason for that (which it should inform me about) why would it show a single popup for each of them? After the first one or two it should notice that it's got too many popups in the queue and just stop and ask _once_).
