My Reviews

Please Update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I really liked this for those sites that just update continually. They are annoying and consume bandwidth. Last year I finally updated my FF from ver. 26 to 28 (yeah, really, 'cause I hate having my fave ext's getting broken by updates) and whoops - this one only works through ver. 27. Developer, are you still alive? Well, best wishes anyway.

Does anyone know of an alternative, perhaps?

Dropdown Should Always Drop DOWN Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Awesome, works just fine with FF24. I won't use higher versions because several of my favorite extensions won't work with them, though don't feel I can complain like others about a lack of updates since I myself just got around to using Windows 7. I'm sure you will get around to updating, and when you do, I have a suggestion.

It has to do with Win7 in fact, and is so obvious that perhaps it has been made before. MS made "taskbar on top" (of windows) no longer optional. Well, I prefer my taskbar at the top of my screen, thus when DS in mini mode has only one item its dropdown which doesn't drop down but UP (I think Windows can be blamed for this as well), it is hidden behind the taskbar.

In the future you should try to make the dropdown always drop DOWN. At any rate I know it will be possible to get you to do this long before MS fixes its now crippled taskbar.

Close'n forget

Closes ALL Tabs Now Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Used to work great but ever since I reinstalled FF24 (XP SP3) it just closes ALL TABS. Tried all options, button and context menu. Tried reinstalling from file as well as fresh from AMO (ver. 0.11.6). Any ideas on how to make it work right again?

External Application Buttons 2

Fred Said It Best Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Super useful - no surprise I'm not the only one who really appreciates this.

Also there have been some good suggestions, IMO. Folder shortcuts would be nice. Obviously then if one needed to save space any number of shortcuts could be put in a single custom folder....

My highest rating though just because having cool app buttons in the browser is SO nifty!

Now that my navbar has accumulated a slew of extra buttons, my suggestion would be to make it possible to place them VERTICALLY in Vertical Toolbar. Perhaps this could be accomplished simply with an individual placement ability instead of them all being located as a bloc? I dunno - maybe just toss them into the customize bin?

Trandom might like to try "File and Folder Shortcuts 1.4".

RSS Ticker

Not Another Button Request Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks to the previous reviewer for mentioning The Button. Another "duh" moment for me too. So now I only wonder, since the ticker IS a "bar", if it could be made selectable via toolbar menu, as I have many buttons already (Ah, yes, First World Problems;)

Just need to get in the habit now of killing the ticker before killing Firefox, otherwise my poor old T5500 chip takes awhile getting everything going again.

I wonder whether any developers have considered Delayed Startup for demanding extensions!

Yeah, I know I just need a better machine, but am going to check out the "FeedRoller RSS Ticker" app now. Others desiring egg in their beer may wish to do the same.

Very cool extension. Cheers!

One of My Faves Rated 5 out of 5 stars

And I've used it for some time now, as I like to save little htm docs from webpages - so easy!

The quickness of the update right after my request got me confused (especially since I'm using two machines with different FF versions) so I removed my last remark thinking I was in error - perhaps I still am, but anyway, a big thank-you!

Totally Bitchin Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Absolutely essential on the Old Primitive Puter that gets bogged down by the Drudge tab. On the New Puter the Drudge refresh is still a pain in the A**!

EZ to use with the statusbar icon, people!

PS Thanks JJL for the intelligent review encouraging more of the same!

Menu Button Reskin

Moar! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I really like it, but anything gets boring after a year. Moar skins, moar! Or - could a system like Bookmark Favicon Changer's let users apply their own? Hey all you creative people out there! I did just discover CustomAppButton though; so far, as a non-css'er, I can at least get rid of those boring letters - also pretty cool.

VERY COOL - One Big Suggestion Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The Wiktionary popups are so like nifty little learning cards - have no teachers yet suggested an option or advanced version to make them easily collectible and printable as such?

Absolutely Fabulous Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I keep telling people there are just two extensions that have made my browser both beautiful and sensible: Tabs Always in Titlebar and FabTabs. (OK - Tab Utilities too)

In my opinion most of the readability gripes I've seen here can be handled with the extension's options, as well as Tab Utilities >Options >Appearance >Tabs - although admittedly I don't bother with personas or much in the way of themes - with FabTabs I just don't feel the need.

The Captain is a pretty awesome fellow and author of some other extensions as well and has his own forums on his website where he listens. Upon my suggestion he wasted no time at all in extending the FabTab (new version 1.4.4) treatment to my Vertical Toolbar. Oh yeah, the gradiated button coloring is really cool too.

I love my FabTabs and don't understand why more people don't use it. If they're that hung up on their precious personas you'd think they might also try a little simple tweaking.
