My Reviews

User Agent Overrider

Great! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

What I like most about this add‐on is the simplicity of its user interface: simple lines of text that can be cut&paste into an editor, and back. In between, you can use the full power of your favourite editor to modify the menu in any way /you/ like.

Switching is easy, the effect is global, and survives a firefox restart.

Just one little thing: it would be nicer if UAO would take only one icon slot in the tool or add‐on bar. Instead of the arrow, let the selection menu open with the action button (right click for right handers); similar to the built‐in backward/forward icons.

[UAO 0.2.2 + FF 26.0]

Secure Password Generator

Excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Good, easy to use interface. Password generator parameters can easily be adjusted to the site's requirements. Offers a ‘last generated’ button for the password confirmation field. Can also be used to generate passwords for different applications (clipboard copy).

Navigate Up

Very nice add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Been using this for so long, I almost forgot it's not a built-in element. As useful as the ‘page back’ button, and an almost identical user interface, only the keyboard short cut (preferably Alt+Up) is missing. I'm still hoping it might be added some day, and when it does, I'll ‘Up’ my rating from 4 to 5!

Actually, I'm asking for Alt+Up to be added to Navigate Up (not Search Site). This keyboard shortcut should do exactly the same thing as left clicking the up arrow, e.g. go from www.example.com/foo/bar/ to www.example.com/foo/ (navigate up one level).

Thank you for adding the Alt+UpArrow keyboard shortcut. Perfect!

Multifox

Very nice Rated 5 out of 5 stars

No bells and whistles… fortunately, as I don't need them. Simple, convenient usage; provides all the functionality I need. [Multifox 2.0.7 + FF 26.0, and earlier versions]

Cookies Manager+

Great Cookies Manager Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent add-on, extending the functionality of the built-in cookie viewer, which remains available on demand. CM+ offers a very useful set of configuration settings.

One suggestion: it would be nice if CM+ could (additionally, on demand) export the cookies in XML format.

Clipple

Nice and simple Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A very nice extension, simple to use and unobtrusive—just one entry in the context menu.

Works as advertised (FF 26.0 + Clipple 0.1.1).

French spelling dictionaries

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Contrary to the opinion of some reviewers, I'm glad to be able to choose between the four variants offered by this dictionary. Perhaps, it might be possible to add an add-on options button to allow the user to select which variants should have an entry in the context menu. This would be more user-friendly than removing/renaming files in some profile's subdirectory.

SettingSanity

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Without this add-on FF 23+ would be unusable.

Is there some way to update from FF 21.0 to FF 22.0 without losing FDM plugin?

British English Dictionary (Updated)

Charset Switcher

Very good add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very helpful when regularly visiting sites that lie about the character encoding they use.

Works as advertised (FF16+CS12.0.20120501).

Digraphs

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works as advertised (FF 24 + Digraphs 1.2). Very useful, especially for long time vim users, like me. :-)

Password Exporter New 2012

Simple, unintrusive, good Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Does exactly what one would expect from its name : exporting (and subsequently importing) the passwords stored by FF, either in plain text (e.g. for editing) or encrypted. Can also import/export the list of excluded hosts (in a separate file). Access to the new functionality is provided by an extra button in options>security, next to the FF standard password button. Does not invade tool bar and/or menus.

Works well for me with FF 16.0, and using XML format – for obvious reasons I never bothered to try the obsolete CSV format.

Just one suggestion : it would be convenient to store passwords and hosts together in one file. Perhaps in a future release?
