For all the features this thing has, how about a brain-dead obvious one that many downloaders are too stupid to include in theirs. How about just f***en download the source file without any coversions? For example I want just the audio from a video. So get the original source m4a file, don't convert anything and preserve the quality. Is it so hard? And make it simple and obvious and EXPLAIN somewhere that the file is untouched original M4A. Addon is not bad. Just a couple of things I'd like to see changed.
1) On a mac when you two finger scroll (which is the equivalent of mouse wheel scroll) to adjust the volume when using the "natural" scroll direction, scrolling down increases volume while scrolling up decreases volume. Just have a setting that reverses the scrolling direction, maybe have it say something like "use natural scroll direction" under the setting for adjusting volume of youtube videos with scroll wheel.
2) Really all I wanted was an addon that auto-pauses videos when I go to another tab while the video is playing. Firefox already auto-pauses youtube videos that are loaded in a background tab. That's not a big deal. The big deal is auto-pausing a video that is already playing in an active tab when you go to another tab. Is it even possible to do? Thanks.

At least can someone provide us with a way to get rid of the f*cken quickfind bar and use the regular findbar when you "find as you type"? Through css or some other way? And also toggle the findbar with cmd-f. Mental midgetry at Mozilla is f*cken off the wall sometimes. This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.

Absolutely brilliant, essential add-on. Greater than the power of ABP and NoScript combined while using less system resources to boot! If you learn how to block/allow scripts with this, it's your one stop shop for privacy + security. My only issue is that, from a novice's perspective it's not clear what "I am an advanced user" does from looking at the preferences page. Maybe have a bold heading that reads "Script blocking" or something then the checkbox could say "Enable (for advanced users only)". A major philosophical difference from NoScript in that "advanced user mode" is essentially saying "enable only if you know what you're doing" vs "not blocking scripts is dangerous! Do it! Figure it out from there" kind of thing I guess. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.14.18). This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Everything works for the most part but when I click on reduce height of download rows, the height is obviously reduced too much. The text butts right up against the borders of each row. How about some padding around each row to better tell each one apart or option to customize row height/padding. There's another addon that let's you customize that called Download Panel Tweaker but for some dumb reason it keeps moving to the left away from the downloads button maybe 60% of the time when I click on it. Can anybody do anything right?
no thanks Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Amen to the previous reviewer. He's 100% correct.
Look, I don't mind ads per se. I don't think anyone does. Why would anyone mind an unobtrusive ad? It's not rocket science. But of course I mind having my internet experience hijacked. That's why I block all ads without prejudice. And any site that doesn't allow adblocking users is out of luck. Too bad. Because I wouldn't trust an ad company to pet my dog right. I will never go to allmusic.com ever again until they change their policy. I don't like it but I won't do it. Period. I hardly go on it anyways.
I don't know what the solution is to be honest. If I block all ads without prejudice even harmless static images will get blocked. The industry did it to themselves. They only have themselves to blame. Oh but I'm supposed to trust this addon? Why should I? F you all. Every single one of you. Who will pay me for the dozens of hours I spent over the years having to reinstall my system? Yeah, that's what I thought.
crap Rated 1 out of 5 stars
When I turn it on, many images and buttons on many websites get covered in black which makes this useless for anything other than reading a simple page with text. The submit button on this very review page is black, I can only see it if I disable the addon.

I feel bad. I have no problems supporting sites with ads as long as they respect my privacy and are non-obtrusive like they should be. But the ad industry are all scum and can't be trusted anyways so I guess I don't feel too bad. They did this to themselves. The internet has become a real psycho circus with malvertising at every turn. Regardless, compared to ABP, uBlock Origins flies. Like an eagle. Firefox starts up faster and I can type in the location bar immediately. In fact my entire web experience is a bit faster now. I find the difference a little hard to believe. It's almost at fresh install vanilla firefox speeds. The only thing I did different was replace my usual blocker with uBO. No issues with "over-blocking" so far. Keep it up guys. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.10.4).
this addon is broken Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Site specific zoom levels don't work. Only default zoom level works. Even in about:config browser.zoom.siteSpecific is set to true. So I don't know what the hell is going on. Maybe there's something wrong with my browser. Maybe another addon is interfering. I don't know. Anyways, I can't use this addon because command-, is a hotkey to make text smaller. Command-, is a global system wide hotkey for app preferences on a mac. This addon completely ignores mac users. Make the hotkeys customizable.

The last week or so Gmail reloads the page after I login. I think it might be detecting that resources aren't being loaded remotely and it reloads them remotely? I don't know but it's strange. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.5).

...I'll have firefox completely blank, no page is loaded at all. I disabled top sites. I close the last tab, cookies, etc, get removed, but sometimes there will be a persistent google NID and/or mozilla add ons cookie. OSX 10.9.5, fx 47.01.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.10).
Firefox 47 broke this addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I used to have the tabs go all the way to the top of the window so that there is no waste of space. When I upgraded to fx 47, there is now a space above the tabs and nothing I do seems to change this. I'm on OSX 10.9, default fx theme. Thanks. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.2).
I don't understand this extension Rated 1 out of 5 stars
How is this supposed to work? Is it not supposed to force html5? Because it doesn't do that. It just says "Your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats..." or "an error occurred, please try again later".
eh... Rated 2 out of 5 stars
This might be useful to some people but it's pretty much useless to me. All I want to do is have it so that when I click on the star ONCE it automatically saves a bookmark to the bookmarks menu. I don't understand the mental midget at mozilla that thought, hey, let's not give users a choice about this. I don't want another folder, I just want all my bookmarks in the bookmarks menu in order of when I bookmark them. Is that too much to ask? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (29.0.20140506.1-signed).
great, but wierd bug Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This is great, I just found a bug with it though. I tested every extension that I have, I thought it was firefox itself at first, but I can now confirm it does this ONLY when I have f.b. purity enabled. When I close some tabs really fast one after the other, sometimes it'll bug out firefox and cause one or two tabs to stay behind permanently even though I pressed, cmd-w... this is on osx snow leopard by the way, not sure if the same thing happens in windows. But it's weird. Also, I'm curious as to why mozilla wants you to re-write a chuck of code to upload the latest version? What's wrong with that code? Thanks. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (22.214.171.124-signed).

Jesus Christ Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This addon works like it was made by Jesus himself, with his bare hands. He just waved them in the air and fixed the fucken search bar. You're the man, quicksiler. Fuck yeah. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (126.96.36.199-signed). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
