Remove Duplicate Messages

Worked great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Worked like a charm whereas the "(alternate)" version (found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/remove-duplicate-messages-alte/?src=search) was too strict in it's analysis, and wouldn't find any "non-identical" duplicates. By non-identical, I mean that I imported some messages from outlook to thunderbird, and somehow the duplicates were very slightly different (maybe a header? or an extra new-line in the message?). Anyway, you can see how I imported from Outlook here (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2564993)

StumbleUpon

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works for me on FF15. I personally think I like StumbleUpon better back about 4-years ago, when they had user forums devoted to stumble-topics, and when they had green&blue icons. Other things have slid as well, or I would have given it a 5-star, but it IS still one of my favorite addons, and I'm not sure of a very successful product of a similar nature.

Show Profile

Useful, fairly small, and EASY Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I will say much the same as the other reviewer... This addon is fairly small, does what it says it does, and does that well (ie, it completely automates the process, so no typing/defining per each profile). It could be smaller size, and restartless, and yes... there are other options out there, but it's easy to use, and useful for those using multiple profiles (especially simultaneously).

Line Marker

the most efficient Persistent Highlighter (small size, nice privacy) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

In response to NettiCat... this addon works fine for me by updating the installer.rdf (in the xpi)... the highlights persist after reboot just fine. :)

Some reason, I couldn't access your website (any page, via searching on google)... I kept getting a Forbidden:403 error. I was able to pull up your link though via archive.org:

http://web.archive.org/web/20110718163656/http://netticat.ath.cx/MyAddons/MyAddons.htm

Very interesting website, but unfortunately, I can't download anything via archive.org. Hope you get it up & running soon! :)

MyBookmarks

Nice, but needs some work Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This could be one of my favorite addons. It is perhaps the only addon of its class... that insert the bookmarks into a homepage/webpage. I like the ability to customise it's css looks, to move sections/folders around, etc... BUT:

1) When deleting a RSS headline/bookmark... it comes back upon refreshing the mybookmarks page. This is my biggest criticism.
2) scrollbars could be very useful... (see symbaloo.com for ex). Along with this notion is the idea of fixing maximum folder-section heights.
3) move individual bookmarks around, even from folder to folder.
4) when loading rss feeds on my older computer... the toolbars and whole screen turn gray while it takes maybe ten seconds to load up...
5) please provide an email link somewhere... even translating your homepage, I failed to find an email link or contact form.
6) rss previews (in a hover-popup or such) would be nice :)
7) Though I'm sure this falls outside the scope of your addon, or what you are currently interested in... I think that incorporating widgets (like weather or search engines, etc) would be a step in moving towards a truly functional HOMEPAGE. But this addon goes a long way, and again, would be much more useful if you could solve the top couple of problems. Thanks so much for writing it :)

PS - Symbaloo.com has a section called "major news" which streams rss feeds in equal sized boxes with vertical scrollbars. It also has tabs... to quickly navigate pages. And lastly it has widgets. It's also very bulky, when yours is compact, is too graphic intensive and slow... but yours is slow because it can load soo much rss feeds at once.

Download Statusbar

Back to Normal Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hi, this addon is back to normal, so no need to panic. However, a few problems:
1) the download link at the top of the screen didn't work for me, but the one under "Versions" at the bottom of the screen did.
2) The version info says it's only compatible with upto FF4.0... That doesn't seem quite correct, but the version I had before the ad-version was compatible with FF7.0... but anyways, you can always easily hack the xpi or download "check compatability" addon.
Personally I can understand the authors desire and methods for making money (as he included an option, and declaration thereof, to disable the ads. On the other hand, it was quite antagonistic to the whole concept of a free browser and all the other free addons... perhaps he'll come up with a better idea... till then, you may want to donate to the author of this much useful little addon.
I wonder if an ad embedded into the addon option-window would be better accepted?

BYTubeD - Bulk YouTube video Downloader

I Like... and found very useful Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It does what it says, and it does that (and not much else) quite well. It was very useful for me... and does what few other video downloaders can... though I wonder if flash-got could've done the same thing? I used the "generate links" option, and then import the links (and filter them) in DownThemAll. That is much more flexible and faster than it's self-contained mechanism (which is too ugly and too simple for me).
I hope you continue working on it :)
PS - include an option to "export links" as default behavior. I also wish that it could capture current playing video (even if it's unloaded, via flashblock)... and just that video. Maybe add a right-click behavior on toolbar button to trigger a single-video download.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.6).

BarTab

How to avoid F5 (automatic load workaround) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hello, to get BarTab working (better) on FF7+, download BarTab v2.1b2 at

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bartab/versions/

restart... then click BarTab options and choose:
*Load all tabs at startup
*Load all links opened in background
*Do Nothing (concerning unloading tabs)

THEN go download BarTab Lite at

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bartab-lite/

and enable. Even though it doesn't need to restart FF to enable this app, you won't see anything till you do... so RESTART.

NOW after restart, under the addons option for BarTab... choose
*Load all tabs at start up (should be already set to this setting).
*Do NOT Load tabs in background
*UNLoad tabs after time period (if you want)

With these settings in place, you can now use BarTab Lite to control startup behaviour, and BarTab (big) to control other behaviours... Why?

Cause BarTab Lite set up in this way allows you to click on an UnLoaded tab and Have it Load (withOUT having to press F5 (reload)).

Well... it doesn't work perfectly, 1) tabs UnLoaded can't be Loaded back without pressing F5, and 2) The settings don't last through another restart...

so for that you can reset BarTab options to FIRST section before restart, and switch BarTab options to SECOND section after restart.

That might sound like a lot of work to avoid pressing F5... so if anyone wants to offer another suggestion, I hope you do. Oh, BTW, I encounter no Phantom Tabs using this combo.

PS ~ the memory resource cost of adding BarTab Lite on top of BarTab (big) is insignificant (probly quite less than ~1mb extra)
