My Reviews

Add to Search Bar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's stupendous that the so-called 'Quantum' comes without the option to add custom search engines. This should be a default.

P.S. - I have managed to recreate most of my former search engines with http://ready.to/search/en/, but it wasn't without pain.

Time to scrap Google.

Lovely surprise. This should become huge.

Biggest loss coming with v.57, please update if possible... :'(

Sidebar Notepad

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

On install, I'm faced with an empty password field and a Validate button. Whatever I put into the field, on pushing the button I get a "no saved password found" message. I'm at my wit's end as to what I should do. Uninstalled.

Again, the simplest of needs – a note app in the sidebar – not catered for by the mighty "Quantum".

Ability to edit list item title would be nice. Also an option to remove preview images and 'sponsored' article. Thanks & much appreciated as it is, though .

Random Bookmark

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is very needed, but it has some bug. The options keep disappearing the moment I open them in the add-ons manager. So, while it works fine as a general randomizer, folder picking is not possible for me.

P.S. It's the FF Quantum that I have. The part that keeps disappearing is all that comes after the 'Rating' line.

Complete YouTube Saver

Needs fixing. Thanks anyway. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I installed ffmpeg as advised, but am still unable to get 1080p videos. For some reason, they keep downsizing on completion. My workaround: opening the video in a player while still downloading. This way it's not downsized, but I'm left with a separate audio and video file, which I mux together in MKVToolnix, ending with an mkv file.

Thin Bookmarks

Good Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been having it for ages, and works fine.

Great again Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for the update!

Gmail Manager-community

Unusable Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Creates a toolbar above the Bookmarks Toolbar, which can't be moved anywhere. Uninstalled.

Gmail one click login

Pointless Rated 1 out of 5 stars

For a single Gmail account there is instant login by default.

X-notifier lite (for Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo)

Annoying leechware Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It works for a while, then it stops and pushes for "donations" – and nothing else. You should say on the tin this is pay software. But of course, who wants to pay for just checking their e-mail? Uninstalled for good.

Folder exclusion needed Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Does a good job for what it is, but it would be great if it had the option to exclude folders from the "stream". Or even better, to set up profiles for browsing bookmarks, with an individual set of bookmark folders for each. Thank you anyway.

Any hope for a FF57 update?????????

samfind Bookmarks Bar

Good, except not Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I used to like this, but it has an unaddressed bug, which renders it useless in the long run. "Icon and Text on hover" for the websites DOES NOT WORK. The majority of the bookmarks gets stuck in the drop-down menu at the end of the toolbar, while the bar itself remains half empty. I tried in vain to find a workaround, or to get advice from the addon's maker. Going on with icons only is increasingly confusing as their numbers grow by the day. This way the basic functionality of the addon -- i.e. quick orientation -- is lost, and its use becomes pointless.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.2.9.1-signed.1-let-fixed).

Stopped working Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I was very happy with this, but it stopped working after FF15. It's a mystery why it is still featured, while other add-ons become unavailable after one missed FF upgrade.
