This Add-on works very well, if you can install it. I was able to after I manually updated the installer myself.
**** WORK-AROUND ... USE AT YOUR OWN RISK ****
I hate it when I see that it's not available for my newer versions of FireFox, or worse yet Pale Moon.
I have found a workaround, that works with this Add-On for me.
It's simple to do if you're not faint at heart.
1- Right Click on the Add to Firefox Button, & then use 'Save Link As'
2- Open the XPI with your favorite unzipper (I use WinRAR).
It's basically just a zip file.
3 - Open the Install.rdf as an ordinary text file
(I use notepad++), & change the Max version to say 36.0
4- Save that updated Install.rdf file back into the xpi
5- Install the add-on via file>open file> in your browser
If everything works fine, it will install as usual & you will need to restart the browser.
**** NOTE: This workaround works on a lot of older add-ons, but beware, it doesn't always work, & sometimes there may be pronounced incompatibility issues!!
**** USE AT YOUR OWN RISK *****
You've been warned (that said it worked with this add-on for me on my FF v24.0 Portable ESR ) ;-)
I got this for the "FULL" Page capture feature, & for that it works flawlessly!
Works Perfectly.....Replaces the original for use in FFv26+
110% Trustworthy....passes all tests.
Excellent job.....thank you!
Just updated to FF v10.0 & none of my PW viewers worked...........that is until I installed this beauty!
She works PERFECTLY!
Only one thing I would want different, & that is to be able to relocate the key button to any toolbar.
I don't use the status bar---so activating it first, then use the add-on, & then closing the status bar when done is a bit of a pain.
Thanks for the consideration---Keep up the great work!
Makes everything Crystal Clear & Neat!
A big THANK YOU for the Update!!!!!
It works for me, & I'm using FF 6.02.
If you are already logged into ImageShack, the uploaded image is loaded into your account---otherwise it just gets loaded on the server, but you still get the links. If you forget the link, you'll loose the upload & need to re-upload the image to get a new link.
It would be nice if it checked if your signed-on to ImageShack or not, & if not ask if you want to signon...
Updated to v6.02, & the Download selections are gone? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.4).
The version here seems a bit out of date.
The LATEST Version (Text Formatting Toolbar 0.1.4.12) is available at the creators own website:
I think this extension adds quite a bit of flexibility to my 150+ search engine collection! Thanks!
Heads & Shoulders above Google. It offers soo much more, & it's flexibility is able to make your experience unique.
I only wish that someone would make a Tutorial on adding engines & other various customizations. I couldn't find any 'real' documentation regarding how to craft this gem to all my likes. For that reason Nibbo will get only 4 out of 5 stars. It would deserve 5 Stars, but adequate documentation is important. The 'quick start' leaves you wanting. Surely in over 6 months it could have been produced.
Very Nice Extension!
It works fine except in only one area.
The background of the bar is blank, unlike the Status Bar.
In your next version, please make it so it takes on the background of the Status Bar itself. My Status Bar is colored via Persona or AnyColor, whichever I decide to use, & it would look great if your Statusable Bar would conform. Fingers crossed & hoping.
BTW....For those that use CustomButtons2 you can make a toggle--to toggle it on & off--with this simple line of CODE:
I have just started to imagine all the possibilities!
The invisibility problem is a pain though, but I have done a little workaround.
Find any file & drag it to the invisible button location (where you initially placed the Ext.App.Button). It now becomes a button. Right click the new button & select PROPERTIES. Delete the Path: & then click APPLY & then OK. The button becomes 'blank'. You can change the Icon to any Icon you want via right click & Properties-->ICON SETTING.
Now you have a button that marks the spot! A place holder of sorts.
You can drag & drop to it.
You can Right Click it & select NEW BUTTON....etc...etc
I just suggest not to delete it. It wont do any harm, but it will remove your familiar Icon you created for this button.
Got your latest version - v2.0 - directly from your homepage. Works a charm!!
Four (4) STARS, for the time being!
Finally, the bottom pane is there!!!! It's exactly what I'd always envisioned it would be, but never saw because of 'the bug'.
Congratulations for finally figuring it out. When I have put it through ALL my tests, & if it passes them all, you will get the Fifth (5th) STAR. Only Four (4) for now though. :p
I just downloaded this extension & for the limited usage I have put it through, it worked just fine. I use XP ProSP2, & FF v3.0.11. I have no plans to use the newest FF until most of the extensions support it. I find this extension seems to work faster than 'DownloadHelper'.
I will report any future major +'s or negatives that I encounter.
Splendid, I've been using it for months. It's extremely useful, & has saved my DL's many times. The status feedback is very helpful, & to make it perfect for me all that would be needed is when hovering the DL if it also had the ELAPSED TIME. It is helpful to know the overall time consumption on those loooonnnngggg downloads. Otherwise, I give it 5 stars!!! Keep programming, you show great talent! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.6.5).
Lou...SimplyGrand! I had a little annoyance, but its probably just another extension playin' havoc as usual. Like the previous user/remark, I too would like a simpler way of adding or removing services. At present I have found the only way to do that is to goto the shortenURL_prefs.js within your extension & manually edit the .js file. Thanks again Lou for a brilliant extension!!
GREAT!! GREAT!!! GREAT!!!!
BTW.....Did I say I liked it?
Yes I did!!!
As for pleasure & satisfaction I have to rate this as one of the very best extensions I have added in quite a while!!
You have hit the motherload my friend! Just keep up the good work!
I will be waiting for your updates, which I'm sure will be including additional features that will add to this gems ability to change the looks of my browser even more!
5STARS for the idea, but unfortunately it has a toxic warning screen provided by Firefox stating:
