All I want is a quick way to make rgba gradients quickly, please add more rgba support especially to linear gradients.. and add some more options like to remove comments
Most buttons broken for firefox 33, attribute inspector is the only button that actually works.. all past buttons worked fine in firefox 26. Also the custombuttons.sourceforge.net/forum seems to be maintained by people who barely fucking visit the place, so seems pointless registering or posting by the time anyone there actually enables the account or post firefox will probably be at version 535 and look and work like total crap
those same buttons all work fine on ff 26
want to [shift]+[mmb] click a link from non private tab and have it open a private tab... can u integrate wit tab mix plus and offer the optionThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.7).
Very good, glad to have this functionality and back... and even better I finally found a addon that actually tries to show you the total file size of a file before you save it..
WHY IN THE FEK DO THOSE IDIOTS AT MOZILLA NOT DO THIS.
Anyway I have a problem.. when I clikc on a download link, it opens a new tab.. it closes it, but some reason I'm getting 2 save dialogs show up for just 1 click on a download link...
some way to fix this.. not sure if its caused by some other plugin.. tabmixplus? how to fix or can you fix it
I have been wanting something that shows a favicon on the tab, if that particular tabs has any video or audio media actively playing...
This is close, and kinda useful, but the icon would be better on the actual tab like on the right side.
I used to watch C9.. back when they had Channel10
Awesome.. greatness of an addon...
It's breaking the "customize..." button/toolbars in the firefox 12 nightlies now though :(
Need a way to do this per tab! ..with a little mute favicon on it :))
It's like the blocksite extension, only better and it actually works at removing the blocked sites newly opened tab aswel..
Question .. I disabled the notification alert bar on new popups.. now how do I re-enable it? which about:config entries? "Show visual noticifiicaiton about blocked pop-ups" is ticked on.. yet the bar no longer shows when I know its blocked a popup.
--edit answer found: privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage
Cookie spyware infestation crap. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.2).
"I suppose many people want to browse website and meanwhile watch youtube video"
The best addon for that is PopVideo (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/popvideo/)
... 10x better than splitting the browser frame, can also have alwaysOnTop enabled on the popout. Of course it just pops the video, so if you still want to read youtube comments then yeah Tile View.
In response DW-dev thanks, here is what I have to say...
"The the approach taken by Tile View is the more practical if there are more than two tiles displayed, because it avoids the problem of lots of screen space being lost to multiple tab bars."
Oh for sure it is a more practical approach if you want more than 2 panels, I'm not disagreeing with that. What I am saying is that for the majority 2panels is more than enough (I'd be willing to bet that is the most used option) when split vertically as it utilizes a widescreen display far better. And allowing users to have a separate tabbar directly above a 2nd panel makes browsing workflow for each separate panel much more organized allowing you to switch webpages (tabs) per panel and visually see which tabs will actively show on its corresponding tile panel. Just makes browsing a little more efficient for each separate tile process aswel as allowing users open new links into separate tabs for that panel. Some might say that just dragging a tab out into another separate firefox window and then using Win7 AeroSnap is an ok alternative to the total lack of this functionality, but its pure bloat when you take into account the duplication of gui elements.
Really i just don't know why out of all the firefox splitting extensions (some defunct) none have attempted to split the tabbar for a dualview like extension. Seems like its easier enough to make a separate panel within the main firefox frame window and have it display a site, but don't go no further.. Having said that your extension doesn't do what Foxsplitter does and introduces toolbar bloat into each panel tile. So on that front I really do prefere it, as navbar, buttons etc can all be used on which panel is active, so to me its the closest there is dualview perfection.. Even notepad++ allows users to move docs to a sideview and provides a separate tabbar for those docs.
I suppose if the reluctance is in making a 2nd tabbar for a 2nd tile panel like it was a completely separate optional mode. Then maybe implement some sort of tabbar indication on each actively displayed tab. Such that each tab that is actually being displayed in a tile, has some sort of graphical indication like a different tab color, or just some stylish marker near the favicon to indicate its active on some tile. Because right now if I fill my tabbar up with 30+tabs etc while only having a clear indication of 1 active tab, regardless of having (n)tiles split and more of those tabs actually on screen, there is zero indication of which ones are active when looking at that tabbar. Also maybe include an option to not allow swapping of tabs if its already active in one panel. Because then at least users could cycle tabs in an active tile, and if they cycle a tab that is already active in another tile, it won't get swapped around. Perhaps offer that functionality in the form of an option users can set on an active tab so its locked to a specific active tile, much like 'tab mix plus' provides users an option to lock a tab so that it can't be closed. So you can still change the active tab in that active tile, but you can't goto another tile and change tabs and end up getting a tab displayed in it that was locked specifically to another tile view. I mean you could take it further and other tabs that were created out of a tab that was locked to a specific tile, also become locked to that tile. At least this way and with graphic indication on those locked tabs, it would be like looking at a separate tabbar.
So when cycling through tabs on another active tile, Tile View should just skip over tabs that are locked to another tile. Like if you had 4tiles and you're using one while using [mousewheel] on the tabbar, only the active tile panel should change websites, the other tiles shouldn't swap and change sites just because its been requested to be shown on the active tile at least if its locked(which should be a global option). So Tile View should just force the firefox tabbar functionality to skip over those tabs that are already active in other tiles.
Well that's all I have to say on it and doubt those ideas would be implement, just wish the Maxthon approach was adopted in at least one firefox extension. It's clearly not the sort of tab workflow improvement you'll ever see coming out of Mozilla that's for sure. Firefox 10 will probably just get around to providing [mousewheel] support on the tabbar for switching tabs by that time even though its been in an extension for years. While Opera now has proper decent tab grouping management directly on the tab bar, Mozilla provides craporama tab grouping.
The addon would be better if could actually implement this better functionality (splitting the tabbar, for separate tabs that relate to its corresponding split panel):
http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/4386/dualview.jpg (a proper secondary tab bar! for the 2nd panel split)
screenshot explains all. Splitting more than twice is almost never done, though its a nice added novelty, but the actual workflow and tab logic on it is completely illogical and could be improved.
"1) I think that each "pane" should have navigation toolbar."
I couldn't think of anything more stupid if like most users you just want to view another tab page alongside an existing one. Which is what most do. And its much better to utilize the same navigation ui based on which panel is actually active or last active. So only the extra stuff is splitting the tab toolbar so users can have seperate tabs that display on its corresponding panel below. Sure its really only going to be good for dualscreen though.

Awesome, finally a Maxthon2 plugin like features on Firefox.. you'd think stuff like this would be built into the browser.. but Mozilla are too busy implementing noob crap. 5stars from me, an option would be nice for detaching the .swf object, but don't close the current tab page, like youtube where you can browse and add to comments to the same page that the video was detached from. ie just duplicate it
p.s the 0.4.2 update with the detach button is much better thanks
This addon should tell you what your current user agent string is.. secondly provide an option to set the default agent string so on startup its already modified to your chosen settings.. third option is set agent string for certain sites..so far you need separate extension (UAcontrol) for all those last two making this extension kinda pointless. It doesn't even come with an upto date agent string library or a link to easily fetch the maintained list.
Good work was thinking of something like this myself.. it does need configuration option(the options dialog is empty)
Also only part of the extension is working, the browserHistory.addPageWithDetails is not working, only the gBrowser.addTab bit is working with history being cleared and those predefined tabs being added to the tabbar and history.. which is ok for 'Today' but doesn't really make up a timeline of browser history.
Anyway great work hope to see an update soon.
@cleantone "Once I realized that History Rewrite permanently overrides your actual History " well eerh yeah...it uninstalls just fine though, look for email@example.com and delete it if firefox is not removing it.
p.s to the developer maybe you could add a function to fill out a configuration file that takes a snapshot of current history (for user to amend) and keeps the visit dates relative to when alt+y is used.
5stars.. even though it has been missing in action since 3.6 and the whole 4.0 development (I kid, Mozilla idea of feature development is noob dumbification changes, while improvement is sh\i\t like tab candy crap and list all tabs.. sigh.. while awesome extensions like this get broken by some pointless changes that didn't really improve anything.
Well here is hoping it gets updated for 4.0 soon.
ProTip: Combine this extension with 'FfChrome' (note to be mistaken for the Google-fast but sh\i\t-chrome browser) (remove unwanted context menu entries) and 'Menu editor' (put Smartsearch at top of [rmb] context menu.
"Display searches in the order they appear in the bookmarks instead of sorted. "
Finally being waiting for that, awesome addon update, now I can remove all the symbol characters in front of bookmark search items I was using to fake the sorting order..
This addon is now dare I say it perfect.. I know it was a feature request to include (keyword) but I've just added search keyword in the titles myself -easy enough to do when creating a new search bookmark.
Rss site favicons? missing ... bookmark folder shows them why not sage sidebar?
Higmmer's Sage++ clone has also been updated for 4.0 unfortunately it also misses favicons but it does provide a few extras/settings etc
