Great but need few tweaks Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very good add-on and i'm considering to donate. it works very well on the latest version of Gmail or Hotmail. it used to work with Yahoo!Mail beta but as they are publishing the final version, there is still a sectino that is not hidden when the user activate the option:
"Show X number of Message per page" instead of the infinite scrolling setting.
Hopefully this is gonna be updated soon.

Also i'm wondering if this is gonna play well with Gmail's "People Widget"that was announced yesterday

Thank for the great work

Not Bad - Except for the Donation Link! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is a great add-on but for the publisher to remove the adverts in gmail and hotmail and to insert his own "you have to donate" link in order to remove it feels a bit like someone holding a gun to my head. I don't buy that so I followed the content of the 'fix' posted by 'Yeeeeeeeeees' and voila! THE LINK IS GONE! If the author hadn't tried to force a donation in such a devious way, I would probably have made a donation and rated this extension with 5 stars instead of 3.

Works swimmingly in FF 3.6.16 and 4 release, thanks a ton. If I HAD money I'd donate. And I couldn't agree more - if Google paid me, perhaps I'd care if they made money off me or not. As it is they don't, so I don't. Simple.

great extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been waiting for an extension like this.

It is simple to use

I use it for both my Gmail and Hotmail accounts and works great.

It's consistently updated.

The screenshots could use improvement

All these reasons had persuaded me to gladly donate to the author.

The options page is extensive, but again the layout could use some work

Thanks also for updating it for the latest Firefox version

I also checked out your addons on your homepage, good stuff.

The best thing about this addon though is extra room to write my emails

Good luck with your future creations

Good addon - bad attitude! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This seems to be a nice functional add-on - works fine for me, although I have only tested it for Hotmail.
However, whilst I have no problem with donations being requested (that's perfectly fair), I find it both ironic and annoying that an add-on which removes annoying advertising sees fit to impose its own donation advertising link!

So, if you want to remove this link (without donating), simply do the following:

1) type about:config into the Firefox address bar
2) click on the button to accept the "Here be dragons" warning (we're not going to be changing anything that involves the Firefox base system)
3) scroll down to the line starting "extensions.gmailadblocker.donateLink"
4) double click on this line and the following line "extensions.gmailadblocker.donationClicked" which should change the "Value" column for both of these from true and false respectively, to false and true respectively
5) close that tab, and reload your Hotmail/Gmail window, and you should not be plagued by the donation link anymore!

An Essential Add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you so much for writing this add-on. This plugin (along with adblock plus and xmarks) is the first thing I add to firefox on any computer I have power over. Folks, if you don't like the link this puts in your gmail give them developer $5. It is worth way more than that for anyone who uses gmail, yahoo, or hotmail.

Version 3.2 and Gmail's bottom ads Rated 2 out of 5 stars

The advertisements in Gmail have recently crept from being at the side of the page to being at the bottom as well. I'm using version 3.2.0 of this addon in Iceweasel 3.5.15 and it works perfectly to remove the advertisement on the right-side, but does nothing about the ads at the bottom. I'll hold off rating this extension until the developer has a chance to update it. [oops, a rating is required to post a review.]

Edit: While I disagree with the reviewer below who said he won't donate for this add-on since it is depriving Google and advertisers of money, I do find it extremely tacky that WebMail Ad Blocker inserts an advertisement for itself on every gmail page. Now I need to find an add-on that will remove that ad... ;-)

needs an update for Gmail Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Gmail shows the sponsored links again on the right side of emails. I hope the extension can be updated soon to deal with the changes Google made to Gmail.

Yahoo Rated 1 out of 5 stars

In Yahoo Mail Plus, the check boxes in my inbox are not displayed. I uninstalled the app and my mailbox was still broke. I even uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it, but it was still broke. I tried to reset Firefox to its default setting and my mailbox was still missing the check boxes. I had to do a full windows reinstall to fix it. I do not think it is worth a chance to install this even if it is working for some users.

Good stuff so far Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I wanted it to do what it says; block the ads from my Gmail account. So far, so good. I've had no problem with it and the space where the ads were is now filled with the message that I was opening to read, just larger. Good work! As far as the poster who said he wouldn't contribute because this is depriving someone a chance to make money, Google is selling my search history to vendors, without me having any say in which history and to whom they sell. Google is not paying me any share of that, so why wouldn't I block it if it annoys me? If Google mail wants to say that it's free, then be free. Don't then claim that the cost of my gmail account is paid for by my privacy.
If this add-on continues to work I'll send the developer some money to thank him and to encourage him to make more excellent programs.

Good Idea But Did Not Work Right! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Update: 3/11/2016

I am now using version 4.29 on FF 44.0.2 and it works great!

Rating revised to 5 stars from 2. Thank you for fixing it.

************************************************************************************************

Did not work right for me. I use FF 3.6.8 and other earlier versions.

While the add-on was able to remove the ads on the right hand side of Yahoo! email, it made the viewing area pan way too far to the right, even past the physical screen of my laptop. Because of the panning, it was impossible to view the entire email messages. The text would appear as a single line and it kept going and going right past the physical screen on the right. There wasn't any way to scroll the viewing area to the right to read the rest of the messages. Ditto with images.

Problems with Yahoo Mail Rated 3 out of 5 stars

On the one hand, it does remove the ads. But, OTOH, it extends the right side of Yahoo Mail beyond the right edge of the browser on my 1366x768 laptop screen. So, I miss several words at the end of each line, as well as having no scroll bars. (It works OK with my 1680x1050 desktop screen)

That's kind of a major bug. And, it's been that way thru a few versions now.

Works great, but asking for a donation for a product that deprives others of revenue is amazingly lame. I'll enjoy the fruits of your labors for free, I think.

Have a great day!
