Great idea, execution could be improved. Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I think that adding a "tutorial" when you install the add-on would improve the experience a lot. Many people (including me) will not want to spend time trying to figure out how to set up a tiled tab through trial and error. The way I thought the add-on would work was: I have a bunch of tabs open and would like to see multiple ones at the same time, so I click the tile tab manager and it asks me which tabs to tile, then asks what layout I want for these tabs. Again, great idea and fantastic feature set, but needs a little more focus on the user experience.
Comparing side by side is useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I'm studying German and with this addon I can have my list of german words on one side and my online dictionary at the other side. Really great!

Me gusta mucho este complemento. Lo llevo usando bastante tiempo; todavía no he encontrado un fallo ni nada raro.

This add-on is like a dream. Thanks a lot for your job!
Cool Add-On, Worth Installing!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
good add-on. well executed. super easy to customize the functionality.
I would REALLY like to see the ability pin/lock a tab, so that it remains visible while changing other tabs. (eg. A Spotify tab that is always visible at the bottom, while the top tile displays selected tab/new tab/etc.)
Edit: Awesome! thanks for the quick reply DW-dev!!
Both Tile Tabs and Tile View can do this ...
If you want to have the same tab always in one tile, and you want the tab in another tile to change whenever you select a tab, then enable these settings in the Tile Tabs Options dialog:
- Assign tab to active tile when untiled tab selected.
- Assign another tab when tiled tab closed.
In addition, you can also use the ‘Tab Lock’ button in the 'Properties' panel of the first tile to prevent its tab accidentally being unassigned.
There is also a companion add-on called 'Tile View', with a slightly different paradigm and fewer features, which always works in the way you have described.
Nice one, but F12 is belongs to Dev tools Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Seems like useful add-on, but you shouldn't change functionality of F12, it's belongs to Developer tools.
New/Close Layout shortcut is configurable ...
The 'New/Close Layout' shortcut is configurable in the Tile Tabs options dialog, but on installation it defaults to F12.
And, of course, Ctrl+Shift+I is an alternative shortcut for Developer Tools.
А мені сподобалось! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Дуже зручно, якщо перекладаєш дещо! Розташувати як тобі треба декілька перекладачів зі словниками та текст оригінал. Треба величенький монітор - то так, але дуже та дуже практично! Саме те що шукав, дякую!
Not particularly useful Rated 3 out of 5 stars
As someone who usually has about 20 tabs open on any given day, I did not find this add-on particularly useful unless you were trying to access multiple small parts of certain websites. Aesthetically, this add-on could be improved by having the web pages scale to the size of the tiles they are in-- perhaps even converting the format of them to be more like mobile layouts.
Web page scaling - Please try using Ctrl+< and Ctrl+> ...
Regarding wanting to scale web pages in Tile Tabs.
You can use Ctrl+< to zoom a web page to fit the tile.
You can use Ctrl+> to zoom a web page back to 100%.
You can use Ctrl+< twice to zoom all web pages to fit their own tiles.
You can use Ctrl+> twice to zoom all web pages back to 100%.

Please provide more information ...
You probably have another add-on installed that is conflicting with Tile Tabs.
Please provide some more information, so that this problem can be investigated:
- Which operating system are you using?
- Which version of Firefox are you using?
- Please provide a list of the other add-ons that you have installed.
Please email this information to: firstname.lastname@example.org
I really love this add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Hello, I really love this add-on, and use it daily. Unfortunately, since Firefox upgrade to 50.0 yesterday, it doesn't work as it should (shows only 1 tile per tab). Same for the sister tool Tile View. Best regards
Tile Tabs works with Firefox 50.0 ...
Tile Tabs and Tile View have been tested and both work correctly with Firefox 50.0.
The problem you have reported may be caused by a conflict with another add-on.
Have you tried creating a new profile and installing just Tile Tabs (and no other add-ons) ?

This is an invaluable extension for active users and web developers, making
possible e.g. to watch multiple content, open search results from google or youtube
in other tabs without the need to leave the results page and much more.
To the developer:
I face a strange glitch in my localized firefox (Greek), which makes the icon of the
toolbar button to be invisible (default theme).
How to reproduce this issue:
1. Install greek firefox or greek language pack.
2. Install "Tile Tabs" and "Classic Theme Restorer".
3. Enter customization mode and select "Small" buttons (Option in bottom-left,
added by CTR) ("Small" = "Μικρά" in Greek).
The icon of Tile Tabs toolbar button disappears..
I face this issue in WinXP, Win7 and Win10, only in Greek and only when the
toolbar button is placed on the main toolbar (default).
Problem caused by bug in Classic Theme Restorer ...
This problem is caused by a small bug in Classic Theme Restorer.
Classic Theme Restorer applies the following CSS rule to the Tile Tabs toolbar button when it is on the main toolbar (nav-bar):
#navigator-toolbox #nav-bar .toolbarbutton-menubutton-button:not([label="Tile Tabs"]) .toolbarbutton-icon
background: none !important;
background-image: none !important;
This works if the language is English when the label is "Tile Tabs", but does not work if the language is Greek when the label is "Πλακιδιοποίηση καρτελών".
To fix this problem, the developer of Classic Theme Restorer needs to change the CSS rule selector to:
#navigator-toolbox #nav-bar .toolbarbutton-menubutton-button:not([id="tiletabs-buttonmenu"]) .toolbarbutton-icon
Worked great Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Worked great until yesterday. New tabs would not focus the url bar. I did the normal troubleshooting and disabled addons to see if it wasnt playing nice with another one but that wasnt the case. Disabling it returned the functionality back.
Update: It was promptly fixed :D
Fixed in Version 14.9
This problem is fixed in Tile Tabs 14.9, which was released earlier today.

Fantastic tool for web developers Rated 5 out of 5 stars
It lets me work simultaneously on a mobile and desktop version of the site I'm building AND have access to all the developer tools in Firefox. I love that I can use split screen on my Mac, have my code editor on the left and have Tile Tabs on the right, both on full screen. Perfect!
The extension is regularly updated. It happened to me several times, that an update to Firefox (multiprocess mode, etc.) would break Tile Tabs. Yes, I update Firefox every day. The developer always posted a fix within a few days.
