Tile Tabs is incompatible with Personal Menu Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The lastest versions of Tile Tabs (13.5 and up) are incompatible with addon Personal Menu (https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/addon/personal-menu/). When Personal Menu and Tile Tabs are installed
simultaneously and I open previously saved session (with Session Manager) no matter which tab I click, I always see the same webpage (the first opened after Firefox start).

Not a problem ...

The author of this review has confirmed by e-mail that this problem does not hapen with the latest versions of Tile Tabs and Personal Menu.

A must-have Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One of the must-have add-ons - helps me a LOT when I have to compare sites/checking out processes on webUIs.
On a big monitor it is a life-saver!

Will be fixed in Version 13.9 (assuming the problem was on Mac OS X) .....

Several users have reported a problem with Tile Tabs 13.8 on Firefox 48.0a2 on Mac OS X. The cause of the problem is being investigated and hopefully will be fixed shortly in Tile Tabs 13.9.

Private Tab integration Rated 4 out of 5 stars

How about a Tile New Private Tab option?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (13.7).

Probably not ...

The have been no other requests for this feature, so it will not be implemented at present.

Awesome Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A great addon, only miss one thing to make it perfect:

Is there a way to open a previously saved layout a quicker way then using the menu-bar settings-menu? e.g. using a url I could bind to a bookmark like tiletabs://saved-layout, or binding it to a hotkey?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (13.7).

Use the 'Recent Layout' feature ...

At present, the quickest way to open a saved layout is to use the 'Recent Layout' menu command, which is available on the 'Tile' menu on the main menu bar, and is also on the toolbar button menu.

It would be difficult to bind a saved layout to a bookmark.

If you want to bind just one saved layout to a hotkey, you could set the saved layout as the default layout, using 'Tile > Manage Layouts > Set Default Layout > Saved Layout ...'.

Not bad, but ... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

[Other info: I don't know how to write an answer and obviously I accidently deleted my previous post, so here it is again.]

In some way it is not 100% compatible with Tab Mix Plus. Opening saved layouts does not work always (may it be the Standard Layout or the previous open layouts on start-up or a manually opened layout). Sometimes it seems it does and sometimes it doesn't. If I deactivate TMP all is ok.

Another bug is that if I have automatic tile switch on mouse hover activated, then some commands from the main or context menu will not work on the upper tiles in a multi row layout because when I click on the menu entry then the below tile gets activated inbetween the menu disappearing and the command being executed because the menu is "too long" and the coordinates of the menu entry clicked are "over" the tile below. (At least that is how it appears to me.)

Thanks for the clarification ...

Thanks for clarifying the original problem. Is this problem still happening with the latest release (Tile Tabs 13.7) ?

With regards to the automatic tile switch problem, this does not happen if the mouse is kept over (not moved off) the main or context menu before clicking the menu item.

Bug in Apr.17 2016 release Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's an excellent add-on, but I had to disable it, since all new tabs were sometimes showing the content of the last loaded tab. For example if I go to Google.com and MMB-Click on a link, then the new tab shows the results, as well as the original tab. Same goes for Amazon. Sometimes all tabs show only the content of the last loaded tab, as if switching tabs wouldn't redraw the content.

Conflic with inspector shortcut Rated 3 out of 5 stars

F12 is shortcut for inspector, it seem tile-tabs use this key by default, and even when changing it to another key, the F12 key don't open inspector. The only way I have find to have the F12 key opening inspector, is removing this extension :/

You can use F12 for Developer Tools with Tile Tabs installed ...

Tile Tabs uses F12 for the 'New/Close Layout' shortcut by default. This is not an issue for most users (non-developers).

You can configure the 'New/Close Layout' shortcut to use another function key, or to use modifier keys (Alt, Ctrl, Shift) with F12.

If you want to use F12 for Developer Tools, then you must untick the "Disable F12 shortcut for Firefox Developer Tools" option.

Suggested: 'Locked' Tile Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love the addon!! I do have one suggestion; Have the ability 'lock' a tile. What I mean is that a specific tile stay locked in view at all times no matter what layout, tile, or tab you have selected. I use a few Twitter tools and it would be awesome to have that stream always showing in my browser.

CSS conflict with Classic Theme Restorer Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The icon does not display correctly on the nav bar when used with Classic Theme Restorer. please implement one of the suggestions fromhttps://github.com/Aris-t2/ClassicThemeRestorer/issues/47#issuecomment-109737684 so Classic Theme Restorer can be made compatible.

More information please .....

Just tested Tile Tabs 13.5 with Classic Theme Restorer 1.4.8 using Firefox 44.0 - and the Tile Tabs icon on the nav bar displays correctly.

Which version of Firefox are you using? Do you have a theme installed?

Awesome Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is exactly what I wanted, I have a big monitor and I did not want to open two or more FF windows to view multiple pages simultaneously. This add-on solves my problem perfectly.

Spot on!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Years I have wondered why I could not tile my tabs instead of having to open a link in another window as to see two pages at once. Today I really needed this more than ever. Installed a couple of hours ago and very pleased with it. Does exactly what it promises and very easy to use.

Amazing Add-On! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This app is a must for people with large monitors. You can finally make use all that screen real estate.

Two features worth considering:

1. Ability to refresh all tiles in a layout instead of doing them individually.
2. Ability to add a layout to the bookmark bar for easy access, instead of the current navigation which takes multiple clicks.

Fantastic add-on. Well done!

Really Useful - one frustration Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this addon. I'm a researcher and at home need to use multiple monitors, I can't to this on the road and tiletabs makes the job bearable!

Assign another tab when tiled tab closed ...

With regards to your original question: "Is there an easy way to close a selected tab and have the split-view be retained, with the active window moving on to the next tab to the right or left?"

You can do this by enabling the "Assign another tab when tiled tab closed" option.

Thank you! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Wanted something that would allow me to stream vid while checking other online activity. Many more features than I'll ever need, and bit cramped on the small real estate of my laptop monitor, but serves my needs. :)
