Great addon, but:

If I will make the next version of Text Formatting Toolbar, I will incorporate the following features:

1. Toolbar will auto-show when the focus is in a multi-line Text Box.

2. The BBcode/HTML/Wiki selector will be smarter.

When I'm in a Wiki site, it automatically be in Wiki Mode.

When I'm in forums, BBCode Mode is set.

Otherwise, it's HTML Mode.

3. I can let the users configure for more templates:

"New Button" dialog consists of the following fields:

a. Button Name
b. Icon Image path
c. What mode this applies to
d. Template:

%T represents the currently-selected text.

So users can create their custom templates like:

Wiki Header 1 Template:

== %T ==

4. Text Size should allow Font Size in Points. In forums like http://sc2armory.com font sizes must be specified in points instead of Levels 1-7

5. FIX the Empty Color Palette Bug in Firefox 3.

It's good!

It'd be best if I can have it inside the textarea (like BBComposer set out to be).

Nice add-on! It would be even better if it uses more true Wiki formatting. Examples:
''italic'' instead of the tag
== Header 1 ==
=== Header 3 ===
I'm looking for a way to enter «Guillemets», a button would be very useful for special caracters, like « or ».

Just waiting for AMO to approve the current release. Which would enable doing all the that. You can create your own buttons, and the size button can be turned into "heading" mode if you like.

A question Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It was said that it contained alignment tools (left, right, center, justified). Where are those tools?

A answer

They are in the Customize Toolbar Window. I could have reset all the buttons so the appeared, but I doubt any one would have liked me doing that.

EXCELLENT! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is probably one of the best extensions that Michael ever wrote. It is great for newbies (like me) who don't know the first thing about html or wiki code. You can easily switch between html, BBCode or Wiki code by clicking the dropdown button on the toolbar. It is perfect for formatting text in online forums and wikis. Click between multiple tabs in your browser, and then adjust the code depending on the type of site you're on.

The toolbar contains many common text formatting tools (bold, underline, italic, text size, text color, code tags, quote tags), alignment tools (left, right, center, justified), list tools (bulleted, ordered), link tools (email, image, url), and a few uncommon tools (subscript, superscript, strikethrough). In addition to the items on the bar itself, the extension comes with some user configurable options.

Michael's toolbar is highly recommended for my staff of volunteers at Add-ons Mirror (formerly The Extensions Mirror) and all the members of my forum. ANYONE who works on forums (phpBB, IPB, etc.) or wikis should have this extension. It makes formatting your posts faster and easier. Great job, Michael! Looking forward to the next release.

Nice clean toolbar. I would like it if the image toolbar button would pick up the current selected text as a suggest url so that I could write a URL, or paste it, then hit the button to stick tags around it as is common on many BBCode forums.

Very Helpful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I’ve always liked the Format Toolbar from Toolbar Buttons but this is a great upgrade.
I had a lot of fun trying it out and it’s very helpful for those without the sharpest of coding skills. I think that the only thing that could make it better is if there were a button to do the typing for you. :)
