Needs lots of work… Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I wanted to like this but I don't. It is a good idea, just not implemented very well. The BIG problem is that it invades your entire browsing experience instead of sitting quietly in the background until you need it. The tail wagging the dog. First of all there's that annoying little magnifying glass that is everywhere whenever you hover over a link. Then the only choice you have if you don't want previews popping up whenever you hover over a link is ctrl-click when hovering over a link. This is a HUGE problem in OS X since ctrl-click is a built-in shortcut for bringing up the contextual menu. So whenever I use ctrl-click on a link, I get the preview popup AND if it's a link to a file, the danged file download menu automatically pops up as well, when I don't want that unless I actually click on the link, and then the contextual menu pops up as well. So I have 3 bloody dialogs open at once when I was expecting only one--the contextual menu. A lot of times I just want to copy the link or open it in another tab or download it directly with DownThemAll. VERY poor choice of a shortcut and there is no way to choose your own shortcut or any alternative ones.

Is it possible to add to context menu or to CoolPreviews button menu "Hide/Unhide" stack label?

Fantastic add-on, helps a lot to be able to use one less tab. It really helps me on social sites when deciding to approve someone on twitter, or quickly check a blog out on tumblr, flickr, pinterest, facebook etc. Even good to quickly bookmark a news or fyi article link for future reading. It has to be the most interactively used add-on for everyone that has it.

My Fav Addon

Fantastic addon! I find I am using it more and more. [currently using Firefox v30-beta]
My wishlist:
* a minimize/restore option (like typical windows). The option to move the CiP window is nifty, it would just be easier/quicker to not have to do that.
* option to have the popup icon appear above/below the hovered link when using "next to cursor" setting. I too often wind up clicking the link itself instead of the icon with it being directly over the link. If it was just above or just below, but still at the cursor, that would eliminate that.
* a context menu option to "open link in CiP" (similar to "open link in this tab")
* prevention of moving around in a background tab pages resulting in that page opening in CiP.
I most often use CiP to copy from, to get different text for pasting in the background window/tab. Clicking links in the background page often results in the new page opening in CiP as well as the background tab. [CiP's nifty back/fwd options provide a remedy for this, just wish i didn't have to use them if the CiP window anchored itself]

Again, I luv, use & recommend this addon regularly. Thanks for creating and supporting it. 5-stars!

Not fully compatible with FF 29 yet! Rated 2 out of 5 stars

As the status bar has disappeared, the CoolPreviews icon has also disappeared. Would be nice to make a toolbar button.

Pop Up window remains open after clicking pop-in icon Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Not sure if I hit the wrong setting somewhere but I now notice that the pop up preview window remains open after I click the open in tab icon.

So, net net, I have to now make the extra step of closing the Preview Pop Up Window...

Please tell me that's not a new "feature"..

Some suggestions Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I love it. I prefer to mouse over the icon to navigate a site like Reddit.
1. It would be great if the url of the preview page was copyable somehow.
2. It would be fantastic if it would work in a nested fashion, so that one could pop up a coolpreview window from the one already open- well two levels at least would be great.
3. Could it be made to work with the autopager plugin so that links on pages added in dynamically by autopager can be previewed. Currently coolpreviews only works on the first page.

Thanks!

Excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great, saves me having to right click links just to see what's in the page. I've all the speeds set to Fast, but I wish it would bring the actual page up a bit faster when using the icon link.

Well, blow me down, this also works in webmail, so if you want to look at a folder without opening it, there you are. Brilliant.
