A must-have extension. This should be added to the default installation.
Super easy and works on all pages i tried (expect the ones described that won't work).
Keep up the good work.

This addon should be built into Firefox! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love it, I like having the ability to add specific sites into my search engine choices and so easily!

Just really cool!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Can't believe how easy this is. I looked for half an hour trying to find the link to a search engine I wanted and stumbled upon you and I am just gape-mouthed flabbergasted! You're a genius.

They say it's the little things that makes life good...well, this makes life great!

Thank You! L.

Simple and effective! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I wasn't able to add Google Images and other search engines to the search bar. With this add-on it is a piece of cake! Thank you very much :)

Excellent...and you CAN change the url... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

To Alois Wrdlbrmbfd below, I use "organize search engines" add-on, and you can easily open the properties and change anything you want, even icons. Enjoy
p.s. This addon rocks, I use it all the time.

You cant do without it Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Really, this is one of my candidates for "best Add-On ever". Easy, small and extremely useful. If it just had an option to customize each search engine's URI or API call, I'd give six stars. I'd pick the sixth one from the sky :)

If you're already in the search result page and use this addon it will save a very redundant url. Also does not work with MyAnimeList. Still, I can't find any better addon.

Is it possible to add a point that disables the country-specific redirection? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Is it possible to add a point that disables the country-specific redirection? This always "google.com" is opened.

I have added this search link "https://www.google.com/ncr". However, the addition "ncr" only works in the address bar.

Thanks for this add-on.

Thanks a lot for your "about:config - browser.search.showOneOffButtons (false)" advise.

Fix for Firefox 34+ Rated 5 out of 5 stars

@Lenny
The new behavior is not created by the add-on but by Firefox 34+ which changes the behavior of the search box (horribly IMO)
Good news is this is easy to fix:
In the address bar type about:config
Type browser.search.showOneOffButtons and double click it to set it to false

Used to be Terrific, but Now Broken? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Hi Malte,
I have loved using your extension over the years and recommended it to many friends!
Recently two low-tech friends asked me for help because it is no longer working for them. On my machine it still works because I haven't updated it recently, but I see the problem on their machines.
1. Old behavior: you can see the icon of the current engine in the search bar. New behavior: you don't know what engine you are currently using. This is a big problem for people like us who use the extension to change the engine ten times a day. For instance we search for one thing on Google, then search the same words on Wikipedia, then Amazon.... Very quickly, just by pulling the arrow, we are able to search on various engines.
2. Old behavior: there was no default engine. New behavior: there is a default engine. This is a big problem for us, because we don't want to have a default engine. We like just seeing the icon of the current engine. So for instance if it is set to Amazon, the icon tells us so, and we can choose to leave it there for a new Amazon search or change the engine. With the new system, if the default engine is Google, it seems like you have to switch to Amazon for every Amazon search you want to make, it doesn't just stay there.
So my question:
- Have you actually changed the behavior, or is it just a problem with this version? (My friends are both on Windows, one is Vista 64, the other Win 7.)
- If you changed the behavior, would you please introduce a setting so that the fans of the add-on can use it the old way, which means:
1. No default engine, just a "current engine"
2. The icon shows you the current engine

Thanks heaps for all the years of terrific use (still working for me.)
Wishing you a fun end of the year,
LD

Hi Dr. Evil, what happened to your add-on Organize Search Engines? I had to reset my Firefox profile and wanted to install it again, but the Mozilla Add-Ons site said that you had removed it.

Can you please inform as to why Organize Search Engines was no longer available for download? I really liked that add-on and cannot find where to get it again.

Add to Search Bar is great but once you've added a bunch of searches, it's very helpful to have them in folders so that your search menu doesn't get too long :)
