Squared Australis Tabs No Restart

A small and simple extension, which replaces the curved tabs of the Australis design (Firefox v29+) with squared ones, similar to Firefox v28 and prior. Furthermore it gives you some options like "tabs on bottom".

My Reviews

tabSizeTooltip

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For me the best tab memory display. More lightweight than the other known extensions. No graphs, diagrams, etc.... just the plain info, if hovered the tab.

Another well and lightweight developed extension by this great guy. Thank you very much. :-)

Check out his other extensions, which are also very useful.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1.2).

Tab Utilities Fixed

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you very much for fixing this great extension. Works without problems in recent FF versions. I hope the close buttons feature will be fixed as well.

I really appreciate your work. Thanks! :-)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.2015.03.09).

Plain Text Linker

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very lightweight extension. Just as I like it. Could be a lighter replacement for "Text Links" for me.

Am I right that it just listen to "click events"? So no page scanning of links like "Linkification" (what I do not want)?

Perhaps a possibility to open the links in a background tab would be great. Anyway, thank you very much. :-)

Advanced Locationbar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Locationbar² -> Locationbar³ -> Advanced Locationbar! Thank you very much for further bugfixes and enhancements on this great extension. I have nothing to criticize. Works without any problems. Thank you very much. :-)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1.1-signed).

Auto Unload Tab

Best (and correct) working tab unloading extension for Firefox v29+ Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for this add-on. Works as described - without any problems.

Feature requests:

1. Would it be possible to implement a function to load the whitelisted sites at startup, like it worked with the "UnloadTab" extension till Firefox v28?
2. An option to "bypass cache when restoring a tab", like in "UnloadTab", would be very good.

EDIT (v0.1.6):
2. Thank you very much for implementing this feature so quickly. Works perfectly. :-)

2nd EDIT (v0.1.7):
1. Thank you so much. This new feature works also great and without any probems so far. Happy Xmas. :-)

Policeman

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm a keen and long time user of "RequestPolicy". For me one of the most important extensions for Firefox. But this thing here is much more flexible and powerful. To control content types is a great feature. This extension gives great privacy and speeds up the browsing experience. For me the far better "RequestPolicy".

The developer reacts very quick to issues. Within 1-2 days he fixed a problem, which I reported.

Thank you very much for your work to make the web browsing much more safer, faster and enjoyable. :-)

Tab Utilities

@ Makiwaiba Rated 5 out of 5 stars

@ Makiwaiba:

To your 3. point: To stack tabs by dragging (like in Opera) change the preference name "extensions.tabutils.dragToStack" to "true" in the "about:config". See here: https://github.com/ithinc/tabutils/wiki/Tab-Stacking-options

ipFlood

Great extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Sorry, but I don't know how to contact you. Your extension seems to be stolen. Check this: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ipfood/

Locationbar³

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for updating this wonderful extension for recent FF versions. This makes navigating so much faster and easier. Works without problems and without the error console entries (from the old original), which confused me a little.

Menu Wizard

Great "Menu Editor" successor Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Finally a successor for the good old "Menu Editor" extension for recent FF versions. And this thing here is much better. The preferences dialog is much better and clearer, where you can remove and move menu items. And the big plus is that you can rename items. That's a very cool feature.

Well done. Thank you very much for developing it. :-)

Menu Editor

@sea: Backup settings Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The settings are stored in the file "menuedit.rdf" in the FF profile folder. Backup the file and copy it back after a new installation. Hope that helps.

Though, a simple export option would be nice, yes.

SimpleBlock

Great, but with problems since FF v27 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Minimalist, very fast and low ressources. For me the best method to block ads, tracking scripts and other annoying things. Perhaps not for every user. There is no GUI and no subscription lists, like in ABP. Create a file named "SimpleBlock.ini" in the FF profile directory and add your own entries. See the developer's comments for examples.

I prefer this one over the similar add-on "Silent Block", because "SimpleBlock" provides Regex AND indexOf rules. Regex is relative hard to understand for a beginner.

Sadly this add-on doesn't work correctly since FF v27. Example: I use the entries "/twitter2." and "/facebook2.png" in my "SimpleBlock.ini". On the site www.win-lite.de these two entries block the twitter and facebook PNGs on the right side, but it remain two squares with clickable links (to facebook and twitter). In FF v26 and prior versions the blocked elements were completely hidden. See the screenshot: http://abload.de/image.php?img=simpleblock_v26_v27xukj2.png

This problem occurs on every site, where images get blocked. I hope this can be fixed. Thank you in advance.

neoe-block-firefox

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Another good and leightweight alternative to the bloated ABP add-on. Simple, minimalist, fast and low resources. Similar to "SimpleBlock" or "Silent Block", but with a hardcoded list. I checked the code, for my taste it could block a few more sites/ elements. But that's just my opinion. In my view it's a very good start.

SusBlocker (IF3250-ITB)

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Looks promising and really minimalist (positive). I like the way how to edit the filter list(s). Just left click the icon and a simple panel opens to directly make changes. Then just click the "Save" button and done. Good solution.

Now the bad: It doesn't seem to work. It blocks nothing from the lists. I tested it with FF 24 & 27. With default lists and own entries. I hope you can fix it. This add-on has great potential and could replace the other minimalist blocker add-on "SimpleBlock", which I'm using for now.

RequestPolicy

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For me one of the most important add-ons for Firefox. I used it for years, then tried other solutions, but came back to it.

It's like a firewall, blocks all 3rd party sites, most ads and tracking scripts, which makes surfing more secure and much faster. This makes the bloated Adblock Plus/ Edge redundant (for me). Great in conjunction with NoScript, which gives the perfect security suite.

Yes, you have to do a little work to whitelist at the beginning, like NoScript. So it will probably not be for the average user, who will be stressed out. But in the end it will give you great security and a faster and less annoying web experience.

Theme Test

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This handy extension helps me to test my themes in a fast and easy way. Thank you very much for developing it. :-)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.3.1-signed).

BarTab Heavy

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I can confirm the bug, mentioned by "EVADER". The options window doesn't work. I hope you can fix it. Otherwise thank you for bringing "BarTab" back to life. :-)

bug582139 (Allow full customize bookmarks button)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I used this Add-on for a long time, because I wanted to use the bookmarks button in the navigation bar AND the bookmarks bar. Now, 100 years later, the Mozilla devs. managed to fix this bug in version 23... unbelievable. ^^

So, thank you very much for correcting Firefox with this Add-on much earlier. I really enjoyed it, but can uninstall it now. :-)

FindBar Tweak

Version 1 - all issues fixed Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you very much for the update and the fixes. The new version 1 works great. So far no problems. I really missed this extension.
