Great ides but fatally flawed Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Each folder has the account name tagged onto it so there's not enough room to display the folder name and it gets truncated. This makes it unusable. There is a fix available (google "different extra folder columns") which is just a minor tweak to the code for this add-on but the authors of this add-on refuse to include that fix because they are waiting (at least five years now!) for Thunderbird to fix a bug. I use and recommend only the "different" version. If this add-on had this fix I'd give it 5 stars. Too bad.

Problem with Add Extra Columns on TB 24.2.0 w/Windows 7 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

SORRY, THIS IS NOT CAUSING MY PROBLEM.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT *IS* CAUSING THE PROBLEM,
BUT DELETING THIS ADD-ON DOES NOT "CURE" IT.

This add-on is very useful, but it clobbers the T.B. Status bar. The status bar is reduced to just the two fields: Unread: ___ Total: ____, squashed all the way to the left, with all the other status thingies omitted. It may look OK for one or two invocations, but will soon revert to the problem display. Pictures on request.

I changed my OS from Windows XP to Windows 7 and caught a bug. I am not sure if this bug in your addon or in ThunderBird.

The fact is...I use "search folders" or "smart folders" with a number of filters. And it was very convinient to use your add-on to count letters in such folder. It is clear that in order to actualize counter, you should click on folder and wait for 1 second. Problem is that at W7 you should click on folder twice or even 3 or 4 times to actualize counter. Please, fix this bug in your add-on or post bug in Bugzilla. Thank you.

There is no "support" section in this plugin's page. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The review submission system suggests not posting bugs as reviews, citing a "support" section, instead, which does not exist for this plugin. So I've posted a bug as a review. If you don't like it, ask for a refund? ;)

Extra Folder Columns Rated 2 out of 5 stars

In Thunderbird this extension does not go in the sense that totalization of folders is not correct and sometimes numbers disappear.
You must control because this extension is wrong with the last Thundebird release 24.
Bye.

Hi, the add-on does not control the numbers themselves, it only displays the numbers that Thunderbird provides.

You need to file a bug on Thunderbird itself about the numbers being incorrect, explaining which numbers, and roughly when they disappear.

Folder Pane icons broken Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I LOVE this addon but I've just updated to TB 24.0.1 and now the folder pane icons are broken. They all display as plain yellow folders.

Make sure you're on the latest version of Extra Folder Columns (1.1.5), also make sure that you've not got any other add-ons causing conflicts - there have been a few that broke the folder pane.

Delivers what should be standard in TB Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very useful. Can't see anything broken with newer versions of TB.

I really like this, but would ask whether you could make it so that the mail quantities could be set to Center, Right or Left align.

It is a great add-on. I have been using with TB 17.x and works great and helps a lot to control the number of emails and the unread ones from the total.

However, I have just moved to PostBox, similar to TB, several TB add-on work on PostBox just tweaking the rdf file however, this add-on -although I can install it- it does not show any information.

It would be great to make it possible also in PostBox. Thanks!

Looks good, thanks! Would it be possible to have more columns? I would be very much interested in a "latest email date" column to keep track of how long ago I received an email on a specific subject. Thanks!

lost folder columns Rated 5 out of 5 stars

losing message list columns is a thunderbird bug which is fixed in Thunderbird 16 currently in beta

Great extension, but for some time now I, and others, have been noticing that the columns selected for the (for lack of a better term) message listings pane *resets* to the default columns every time I restart TB. I have disabled this extension and notice that the problem stops. I reactivate the extension and the problem resumes. I would have been glad to discuss this in a forum dedicated to this extension, but was unable to find one.

Feature Request: more robust column control Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice addons,

I partially agree with this comment:

>This addon looks cool, and it partly true, but very hard to use because of mixed unit
>of folder size. It's disgusting to see MB and KB in the same column.

I would prefer to know the KB data as well as the MB. The mixed unit folder size issue could be lessened if the addon allowed for customization: the ability to check and
uncheck which columns will be displayed.

Excellent add-on, is there a reason why the parent folder of an RSS collection does not display total unread count for its children RSS feeds?
