Highlighter not compatible with TB 60.0b3 (32-bit) Rated 1 out of 5 stars

A bit frustrating, have just upgraded to TB 60.0b3 (32-bit), the highlighter is not compatible with this version.
Any suggestions for a highlighter for emails composed in TB 60.0b3 (32-bit)

very minimally functional Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I clicked on the highlighter icon (which looks like a standard, wood pencil) and the address line, its entire length to the end of the window, though empty but for the NAME of the recipient followed by a comma, was highlighted in yellow. Selecting "clear' eliminated that.

Then, SELECTING text, I highlighted specifying Cyan, but only the FIRST WORD of the text was highlighted and I was unable to select and highlight any other portion of that LINE!

Double-click selecting INDIVIDUAL WORDS in the line DOES work, but of course the result is choppy and the effort is considerable.

Definitely worthy of no more than a 0.x.x release level assignment.

I thought this had worked well in the past. Am I wrong??

Buggy and hard to use Rated 2 out of 5 stars

If you hold your head just right, and whisper an incantation, you CAN highlight text. But (a) if you make a mistake it is very hard to undo (you must select ONLY the highlighted characters), and (b) indented text in the thread cannot be highlighted.

I used this add-on for years without problems. Suddenly it stopped working. I even donated $

Used to work :-( Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I liked this and used it, but with the more recent versions of Thunderbird it no longer works, so I've moved over to Extra Format Buttons (despite that add-on having its own eccentricities). Very sorry to see this one go!

Can't review it because I can's use it (48.0.1). Please sign. Thanks

Good! But.... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Good Addon, but the "clear"-function is not working. Custom colours would be awesome.

Re: I want to like this but.. redux Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Just a quick update to my above review...it occurred to me that if I "Removed All Text Styles" (Ctrl+Shift+Y) it might at least get me back to a clean slate.

That worked.

Then I was able to select and highlight one line of text at a time and clear and recolour at will.

It appears that Highlighter just doesn't like big blocks of selected text.

I guess the lesson is just to not expect too much of this extension.

But wanted dialog for choose custom color.

Would like to highlight whole paragraph, but overall nice! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Easy to add on, nice color choices. Good add on to have. Have to highlight one line at a time. I think others noticed this in 38.3

highlight text in received emails? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The addon is very useful when you want to make sure someone reads the key aspects of your email (although you could use i.e. bold typeface as well).
It would be great if it could be used to highlight text in received emails as well, so you don't need to scan for key info next time you read the email!

This is a favorite with one qualm Rated 5 out of 5 stars

In the latest Thunderbird release, 38.3 I believe, I can only highlight one line at a time. In past editions, I could highlight a whole paragraph.
Other issues about the latest T-bird releases bother me too ;(

Reply to André: Its now working again! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi André, Thanks for your prompt reply! I reinstalled it and its now working! Sorry for the confusion. This extension is one of my favorites and I have been running it for several years, however, it recently quit working. I don't know why but its now working again. FWIW, I'm running Linux (OpenSUSE 13.2). Maybe another extension was conflicting with Highlighter but got fixed? Everything is fixed now so nothing to worry about!

The administrator I work with loves highlighter as it's a feature she liked to use in Eudora. She asked if you might consider a few more blues, or a color picker like omg12345 suggested. Would you consider doing a little more development work?

Great! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One day, when the comprehensive history of computing is written, this add-on will be recognized for the greatness it has.

(The add-on will be even greater when it gives a full color-picker, not just the current seven. Can you add that? Thank you.)

Absolutely essential add-on for Thunderbird! Well done and simple to use.

Do you have a version for Postbox 3.0.11??? Really need your add-on!!

Thank you for your response Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Managed to get it to work. Sorry, maybe my stupidity, but changing text colour & background colour on different lines could improve. Thank you again for your response.

Highlighting of a few words works fine, and I find that a very useful feature.
However, when I select several paragraphs to highlight, the text highlighted is not exactly what I highlight and the undo does not work.

Useful but glitchy Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This add-on is useful in that it provides what should be a standard feature, but there are glitches. Sometimes it takes several attempts to Clear highlighting from a highlighted fragment, and sometimes Undo doesn't work.
