Lazarus: Form Recovery

Was PERFECT long ago, now it's LITERALLY WORSE than nothing at all. Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It used to be utterly trustworthy, but now it is reliable enough for sign-up pages and other trivial text (for now, it fails exclusively on very large entry areas after never losing a single "First Name/Phone Number"-size box), which ensures that the inevitable failure will obliterate a half hour (or far more in my case) of typing.

ignores the increasingly common practice by web developers to use a div or similar (not from the "form input" tradition) and put editable text in there, using some JavaScript to simulate a normal text entry field. Agonizingly, these are exactly the text compositions that the browser can't protect from an errant escape key or close button wiping out (the new styling technique by lazy designers also breaks browser conventions for entry techniques).

After having lost two enormous blocks of text inside a week I've learned my lesson. I hate to uninstall it after so many years of faithful service and so much saved text, but it's necessary until the show-stopper bugs get resolved.

For now, at least the plugin "It's all text!" doesn't make things worse (while making several things better). Stick to that alone until a couple releases after this plugin dev declares my issues here "fixed."
