While I'm very excited with the potential of this add-on, I expected the margin handling to work better than it does (for my particular usages). In attempting to read a plain html document that was margin-less, css-free text, I was able to experience only two margin changes. Extra Wide provided a narrow column of text (~ 25% screen width), while Wide and all the remaining margin options yielded a text column of about 50% screen width. Based upon the descriptions and controls, I was looking for something that would allow me to go from the original code of 100% screen width to 90% wide. Or at least allow for a variation in width equal to the number of margin width choices. I'm not sure why expansion and contraction of the margins seems to stop after a point.... but I've been able to achieve the results I want in Firebug. Admittedly, it's a pain to monkey with the code of every page in Firebug, which was why I really liked the idea of this extension. Minor additional quibble: when I started typing in this comment box, and then switched on Readability to get the language on the controls correct, it reloaded the page and erased everything I'd typed. It would be nice if the coding allowed for transfer of unsubmitted comment boxes. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2).
I absolutely love this addon. Please consider updating it to work with newer versions of Firefox soon!
Easy to use and works as-promised... but I'd really like the option for more text conversions, including:
ALL UPPERCASE, all lowercase, & Putting the Text in Both Upper and Lowercase for Titles
Of those three, I especially want Title Case. (search for 'title capitalization rules' for more info on how those work if you need to). Title case is probably the hardest to code, but I would find it extremely useful.
update: seems the drop-down will fill if I hover over the area before clicking on the bookmarklet. So time saving! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.0).
This is very useful for repetitive product ordering, though I wish it would remember the positions of drop-down menu selections. Then it'd be perfect! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.0).
