My Reviews

Facebook Color Changer

Does not do anything whatsoever Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I would love for this to work, because I hate Facebook's blue theme, but this addon does not do anything whatsoever on my system. Here are my stats for the developer's use:

Firefox v. 26 for Linux
Puppy Linux Lighthouse64 514
64bit dual-core
1gig ram, 4gig swap

I'd love to change this rating if the developer can make it work.

PDF Draw

Could be Outstanding, but Isn't Yet... Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I give it 2 stars for an amazing idea that doesn't work.

Another reviewer indicates it hasn't worked since FF release 24, and now we're on 26. Does not work in my browser; cannot see any indication that any change has taken place (Firefox 26 for Linux).

I really would like to see this plugin work and be maintained. Having a few basic editing tools for the PDF viewer in FF would be so beeping convenient and amazing I don't know what to say.

Suraj, I wouldn't waste my time writing a review if I didn't think the idea for this plugin was very worth while. Please continue your development and make this thing work.

Sideplayer

I can't get it to play anything Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Good idea, but it will not play anything I've tried to play... mpeg4, wmv, flv and avi.

I really wanted it to work... it would be very convenient. I will try it again if the developer can get at least 2 or 3 video formats functional.

Installed on:
Firefox 26 Linux

Buttonizer

Obvious and Perfect Rated 5 out of 5 stars

With so many apps that are used as toolbars out there, a sizable chunk of your screen can be taken up quickly, especially if your screen's short and wide like mine.

I've been looking for this to use with the Character Palette addon for my kid's French classes and also symbols for his Algebra. This button tool is perfect for all the addons out there that do not toggle. The need to toggle extra toolbars should be obvious by now but developers haven't completely caught on to it. I don't know why.

Thanks again for the obvious and perfect addon. If there was one thing it could use, maybe the ability toggle more than one bar at a time.

Thanks again.

Character Palette

Very Useful Tool Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'm using this app for Unicode symbols and my kid's French lessons. Functionally it's fantastic, especially the ease of single-click copy/middle-click paste, and the ability to add your own sets of characters.

A few have already mentioned some things it could use, and I agree. It would be good to have either a toggle button to get rid of the bar when not in use, or equally, if there was a setting to change the view to a button/drop-down menu or toggle to a side-panel instead of a toolbar, any of those options would work great. The reason for wanting this kind of a feature is obvious: some of us have wide-screen laptops which are not very tall, so yet another toolbar is not always desirable.

Still, I'm using it, it's very good, and I'm just waiting for a future update from the developer that will add that additional functionality.

Kudos to the developer, and good job ★★★★ ☺

Changes Settings. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Keeps changing my settings in FF4. Uninstalled it. Too bad.

PingFire

Pingfire 1.0.3 works in Firefox 3.6.3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When I upgraded my Firefox to 3.6, I was upset because Firefox disabled my Pingfire tool. I upgraded Pingfire to 1.0.3 even though it's still experimental, and guess what?

It works just fine. I know it's not 'Mozilla official' yet, but it works. Just do the upgrade. If it works on my oddball set up, it will work on yours too.

Platform: Puppy Linux 4.2.5
Release: Firefox 3.6.3
Plugin: Pingfire 1.0.3

Additional:
I just recently upgraded my son's Ubuntu machine in addition to my Puppy machine, and Pingfire 1.0.3 also works with Firefox 3.6.8.

Platform: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: Firefox 3.6.8
Plugin: Pingfire 1.0.3

It works on two different Linux distros within FF 3.6.3 to 3.6.8. Pingfire 1.0.3 is a winner.
