My Reviews

LeechBlock

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Easy to configure and highly configurable. The add-on is great if you want to block a certain site (or set of sites) for certain time windows on certain days.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.6.1-signed).

Pentadactyl

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If you're already a fan of emacs or vi... Or if, in some other manner, you've discovered freedom from the mouse, then pentadactyl is your friend...

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).

Autofill

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

(After a bit of trial and error...) I found the addon to be well-designed and straightforward to use. The 'wizard' function is especially convenient as it automatically determines the 'type' (e.g., text, password, ...) and 'name' of the field. All the end-user needs to do is to decide what should be automatically entered into the field. Perhaps worth noting that one application is for remembering values for password fields for which the password manager doesn't remember the value.

Flem

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This seems like a useful tool for anyone looking to browse through a lot of web sites quickly. I was quite surprised to find that there aren't many tools of this nature "out there" (and was pleasantly surprised to discover flem). flem is straightforward to install and use. The flexibility to add to the URL list "on the fly" as well as to import a list of URLs from a file is a nice plus. Export functionality for a list of URLs generated (presumably while browsing) is also a nice touch. The only gotcha I encountered was poor handling of the "file" URI scheme but the maintainer of the package was quick to respond, noting that it should be a "quick fix".
