Needs fixed for FF13! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The work-around by miko007 does work however I think ntu should work with FF13 by default.

If you select a term on a page, right click, then select "search google for..." it does not search. It only takes you to the page you have set in ntu. Massive problem but I do love this addon so 5 stars!

This is the most useful addon I have found for tb. This is a must if you have more than one account in tb.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.9).

Here's how to fix it for ff3. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Until an official fix is provided try this... find NewTabURL.js which is down a few levels in your profile directory. Edit that file with a text editor and go clear to the bottom. Replace the following...
try {
var NTUbrowser;
if ((gBrowser != undefined) && (gBrowser != null))
NTUbrowser = gBrowser;
else
NTUbrowser = getBrowser();
// For Firefox < 2.0
NTUbrowser.mPanelContainer.addEventListener("DOMNodeInserted", NTUnewTab, false)
// For Firefox >= 2.0
gBrowser.tabContainer.addEventListener("TabOpen", NTUnewTabFF2, false)
//NTUbrowser.addEventListener("load", NTUnewWindow, true);
}
catch (e) {
}

With this...
function AddTabOpenListener(event)
{
var NTUbrowser;
if ((gBrowser != undefined) && (gBrowser != null))
NTUbrowser = gBrowser;
else
NTUbrowser = getBrowser();
// For Firefox < 2.0
NTUbrowser.mPanelContainer.addEventListener("DOMNodeInserted", NTUnewTab, false)
// For Firefox >= 2.0
gBrowser.tabContainer.addEventListener("TabOpen", NTUnewTabFF2, false)
//NTUbrowser.addEventListener("load", NTUnewWindow, true);

}

try {

window.addEventListener("load", AddTabOpenListener , false);

}
catch (e) {
alert(e);
}

Save NewTabURL.js and restart Firefox. Lemme know if it works for you!

ff3 fix Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I think I've found the fix for ff3. What happens is that the ntu init code is executed (in some instances - fast machines perhaps) before the main window is loaded. Therefore the tabopen event listener cannot load. I added a "load" event listener to the init which sets up the tabopen listener after the main window loads and it works great. I sent the author a proposed fix.

Fix for 3.1b2 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Sogame's site seems to have disappeared but hopefully not for good. I have tested ntu with 3.1b2 and it works fine. To get it to install follow these instructions...
1. Download newtaburl.xpi. 2. rename newtaburl.xpi to newtabul.zip. 3. Open the zip file. 4. Find install.rdf 5. search install.rdf for the line "3.0.*" and change it to "3.*" 5. Save install.rdf. 6 rezip the newtaburl directory. 7. rename newtaburl.zip to newtaburl.xpi. 8. open newtaburl.xpi with firefox and proceed with the install. Enjoy!!
