Why was YouTube Anywhere Player created?
I love creating extensions, but it takes countless hours creating and maintaining them. Please consider making a small donation so that the Add-On can be keep clean, ad-free, and updated.
We found a bit annoying having to leave some sites to just watch Youtube videos, and having seen how Gmail handles embed videos we just had the idea of an embed player anywhere could be perfect for such situations.
Do you want to test the add-on right away? Click any of the following links if you've finished installing it. Note however, in recent Firefox versions you'll need to enable the accessibility option "Work on HTTPS Sites" through the Add-Ons Manager since this is a secure (https) website.

What's next for YouTube Anywhere Player
Implementing support for additional streaming sites isn't something we had in mind (That's why we used "YouTube" in the add-on name) but after some user feedback we changed our mind and implemented support for some of them. In the future we'll implement support for more of them. Feel free to submit your ideas/requests.
