Why was Winestripe Realfox created?
I first discovered Firefox when the 0.9 version was released. It looked nice, was faster than Internet Explorer and more comfortable. At this stage of the development, Firefox was still marginal, reserved to geeks.
Firefox has then evolved and aimed to please a larger public, developers added new functionalities (Personas, counter-phishing system, site blocking via Google) and a complete redesign of the interface supposedly to integrate the navigator with the system.
I found that Firefox 2’s interface was absolutely horrible, dreary, and badly integrated. Firefox 3 did not solve this problem. However I love Firefox and I love Mozilla technologies, particularly XUL.
With the “Realfox” add-ons, I recreated the appearance Firefox had when it was first released, the appearance that I loved.
