マルチウインドウを実現できる拡張機能の「決定版」です。 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Fantastic App. Use at work and at home everyday.
Combined with tab groups this works really well.
Set a layout switch out with ctrl + ` and then switch back to check on all the info.

My only feature request would be the option to open new tabs at the end of current group rather than next to the current tab.

The Best Addon Since Adblock Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is exactly what I've been needing, and a feature that firefox has been lacking. I don't know what the other user's are whining about, there are no problems that i can find. I am using Firefox 38, Linux (Kubuntu) and it has NO issues. The only problem that I can see is the mass amounts of whiny users :P *deserves a 6th star*

Downgrading to version 12.9.1 fixes the address bar focus issue Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I thought the new Firefox update was causing the address bar not to be focused when openning a new tab. Disabling extensions one by one, I found Tile Tabs to be the culprit. Downgrading Tile Tabs to version 12.9.1 fixes the address bar focus issue for now and I'm very happy with it.

Fixed in Version 13.1

This problem is fixed in Tile Tabs 13.1. Please see reply to Sadarax.

issue raised Rated 4 out of 5 stars

[EDITED]
I agree with the comments about how great the extension is.

Still I feel the need to comment to add some more about the URL bar focus issue. It must have appeared along with recent Firefox releases. It is about being unable to type in the URL bar upon opening a new tab (hence the "no focus" problem) as it is expected as FF's default behavior. If Tile-tabs is left enabled, then no cursor appear and no element on the blank new page has an actual focus. To type in the URL bar, you need to click on it or use the usual "CTRL+L" keyboard shortcut.

Though I have been using tile-tabs for a long time now, I disabled it because how irritating to me is the issue with losing focus on the URL bar after opening a new tab. When you're doing that tens and tens of times a day, you're both accustomed to that behavior, and expecting getting to the web page really fast. Please get in sync with the latest developments to correct it.

[UPDATE]
A developer was kind enough to take the time to reply. Here is the answer I got from him over email (as per below in the reply section) :

Trying to get in sync with the latest developments (multiprocess Firefox 41.0a1) is what caused the problem!"

However, the problem occurred while using Firefox v.38.0.5 and Tile Tabs v. 13.1..

Fixed in Version 13.1

This problem is fixed in Tile Tabs 13.1. Please see reply to Sadarax.

Just to reiterate, this is no longer a problem when using Firefox 4.0 - 41.a1, including Firefox 38.0.5.

I agree with Sadarax, with the recent update you lose the focus if you open a new tab, which forces you to use the mouse to put the cursor back to the adress bar or search bar.

Please fix this so I can keep using this great add-on which I really like.

Edit: Thanks alot for the fast intervention!

Amazing functionality that Mozilla should include with Firefox by default.

Tile Tabs doesn't work with Electrolysis Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It is great that the dev is updating the add-on as the firefox "advances".
Anyway when using 40.0a2 with Electrolysis and TileTabs enabled, the focused tab on tab bar will not update with the current tab.
1. Select tab A on tab bar, focused tab A on tab bar, current page A.
2.Select tab B on tab bar, still focusing tab A on tab bar, current page B.

Already fixed in Version 13.0

This issue is already fixed in Tile Tabs 13.0 which has been submitted to Mozilla for review prior to public release.

scrolls for the screen Rated 5 out of 5 stars

i think it is a great extensions, but would be nice increase it with scrolls for the entire scream and not just for the tales, this way would be possible increase the number of tiles on the layout.

Amazing tool with one thing that still bothers me... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is an amazing add-on!!! It simply makes navigation so much more efficient, and, especially when you plan on opening several links from a single site, helps you keep everything organized.
There is one thing that bothers me though: I use the add-on Personas Expression to modify the new tabs content (showing nothing), so that the persona would blur into the backgoround and the background itself would have a specific color... unfortunately with this add-on that's not possible since the add-on instantly renders new tabs (the ones opened by themselves, not the ones tiled) completely white and without a persona on them.
Still, amazing tool and will keep using it to great effect!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.9.1-signed).

Selecting the new tab will show the persona

New blank tabs opened (for example) by clicking on the "Open new tab button" (+) show the persona because the new tab is always selected when it is opened.

However, when Tile Tabs opens a new tab, it keeps the currently selected tab, and does not select the new tab. This is the reason that the persona is not shown. As soon as the new tab is selected, the persona appears. It would be inefficient to select the new tab (and then re-select the previously selected tab) just to force the persona to show.

Makes for a better web browsing experience. Thank you DW-dev! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

All I can say is, "Wow."
;) Well, let me say a little bit more!

This little extension is so lovely, so many possibilities on how to arrange one's windows.

I have always felt constricted by basic tabs...sometimes I didn't want to have to click on each of them just to see what was on the tab, while also having to leave the current one...

Likewise, normal window resizing and opening up a new window on the side of the resized window can be tedious and cumbersome. No longer... Now that I have TileTabs.

TileTabs may not make everyone's day everyday, but it certainly will make it a better day for someone. Thank you DW-dev for your creating this extension!

Powerful, works well, and easy to use! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works very well with a lot of great user experience successes like click to drag tabs to tiles, and auto-resizing (or un-resizing) to fit in tile, etc.

Add-on? More like rad-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

But seriously, it's super helpful and Dev is very responsive and diligent.

I use the shift-drag function a lot to quickly open and view links without changing the current tab (e.g., Reddit *or even real work things*). The ability to save layouts has also been way more accurate and helpful than I originally imagined. Since it can lock/save even page scroll position, I'm able to do silly things like check status/updates of all my Minecraft server's 12 mods at once, in one overview.

Definitely one of a few add-ons whose functionality keeps me loyal to Firefox 5ever.

Would like to be able to use keyboard shortcuts to create a new tab without having a layout currently active. Otherwise quite an appealing and customizable experience.

Edit: Yeah, the ArrowKey shortcuts working whilst there is no existing layout is what I was thinking. Thank you for your time - it's a great add-on and I can tell you put a lot of effort into it!

Added this feature in Version 12.8

This feature has been added in Tile Tabs 12.8.

It is now possible to use the Arrow Key shortcuts for 'Tile New' and 'Tile Duplicate' when an untiled tab is selected, in which case a new layout is created.

To use this feature the new 'Disable arrow keys shortcuts if untiled tab selected' option must be disabled (not ticked). By default this feature is not enabled - to avoid confusing users who might not expect the arrow key shortcuts to work when a layout is not displayed.

Tab tiling is super useful, it lets you have multiple webpages open without the need to duplicate your toolbars as would happen with multiple windows.

Super cool in terms of usability, making it much easier to multitask.

Where is it? I installed it, re-started FF, clicked on Customize, and the icon was not there. Nothing for me to drag to the area I wanted to place it.

Tile Tabs button should be on the navigation toolbar (URL bar) ...

After installing Tile Tabs, the Tile Tabs toolbar button should be on the navigation toolbar (URL bar) at the far right-hand side.

If you have a lot of toolbar buttons, it is possible that the Tile Tabs toolbar button will be in the navigation toolbar overflow panel. The overflow panel is accessed by clicking on the double-chevron button (>>) on the navigation toolbar.

Toolbar buttons in the overflow panel are not shown in the Customize window, which is a design flaw in Firefox.

"Rename tiled tabs with layout name" issue Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When "Rename tiled tabs with layout name" is turned on, layout name remains on tiled tabs even after these tabs were untiled (with F9 or F12 keys).

Fast as always. Thanks a lot!

Миллион абсолютно ненужных настроек!!!
Мне нужно Ctrl+LMB по неактивной вкладке, чтобы активная и неактивная объединились в одном окне, разделённым разделителем

Million absolutely unnecessary settings !!!
I need to Ctrl + LMB by an inactive tab to active and inactive merged in one window, separated by a splitter

Simply use double-click to create a default layout .....

Tile Tabs does have quite a lot of settings - but many of these have been added in response to user requests to support their needs. This means that Tile Tabs can support many different users applications, from the very simple to the more complex. However, for many users, there is no need to change any of the settings.

Out of the box, using the defaut settings, Tile Tabs can very simply create a (default) layout with two windows separated by a splitter, exactly as you have descrbed. All you have to do is press F12 or Double-Click a tab.

Of course, it would be possible to provide Ctrl+Click as an alternative to Double-Click, but this might require an extra setting!!
