Thank you Sherdim! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using Firefox 31 for the longest time waiting to get this extension back. Thanks for explaining how to get it to work. (I should point out, for me, the icon only came back after re-opening the browser; but the name of the current engine appeared right away.)

Partly broken in 35.0 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

So nice addon, but in new 35.0 no icon in the fast search widget anymore!

Attention, users! To restore scrolling icon in the search widget set at about:config :
browser.search.showOneOffButtons = false

It worked so many years! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

And I guess, it will work many years too :-)
But now, I deinstall it, because I barely never ever used it, because my high-speed-mouse-wheel scrolled the icons so fast, I almost never hit the correct one :-)

But such small/neat/useful Addons make FF a great tool!

Thanks the Developer!

So neat! So quick! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I once wanted to report feature request to mozilla, until I found this great lovely addon! Like +99

Elegant and useful, thanks a lot.

Very handy Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great addon by itself, but even more powerful in combination with the "Search on Engine Change" addon.

Problem Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great but does not work with Omnibar
Please fix it if possible.

Sorry, I am no longer actively working on this addon. There will be no future versions.

This is just brilliant :-)

Simple, useful, and works perfectly.

Would be nice if it also worked with the Context Search add on, but 5 stars all the same.

Nice and easy. Makes search significantly more comfortable.
I found that this expand on any long menu. Great!

I like it, but.... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

With the most recent update to FF, now whenever I scroll, it pops up a message saying "an unknown change was detected on your browser's search settings...."

I don't know why this is happening all of a sudden, but it makes it /very/ annoying. I'm blaming FF, not the author of this, and hopefully something will be done about it soon.

I can't replicate this on my newly installed FF 11. Does it pop up a message box? Can you also check in the JAvascript console to see if there's any extra info there?

Also, Ctrl+Shift+K is now used by the Web Console, it would be good to use different keyboard shortcuts as well :)

Alternative without addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

for the braves:
open with WinRar /Mozilla Firefox/chrome/browser.jar
go to /content/browser/search/search.xml
open it with a text editor, find in the text "DOMMouseScroll",
delete only <<if (event.ctrlKey)>> in the "action" field,
save the file and update it in the archive.
Now you can scroll the search engines (but no loop) without pressing Ctrl on keyboard.

please update to Firefox4!

By default when your focus in the searchbar you can press ctrl+up/down arrow. Or alt+down and then hit the first letter of the desired engine or continue with pressing arrow keys.

but the scroll button feature of this addon is great.
