misbehaves in "about:" pages Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It would be great if it worked on pages like "about:epubreader"
On this kind of page, or any page that is not a normal website, hotkeys are always activated, so one can't type "s, w, k, ..." and doing so results in accidental changes.

I have added the French dictionary, but I don't see how to switch dictionary. It is not listed in the dictionaries tab in perapera options. It would be great to have a way to add dictionaries manually.

The wordlist does not remember words upon reopening the list (well, sometimes it does but only for a couple of words or so, which indicates that something's not working as it should)

It seems not to work with multiprocess Firefox.

Finally, it would be nice to have the option to make Chinese characters larger.

Great extension overall. Thanks

hotkeys always active even when not visible Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It now being the only sensible Mandarin plugin for Firefox, it doesn't have enough competition to be truly innovative. For instance, pressing a hotkey will always activate Perapera, even when it's not visible. This is dumb as I can't even write this text until I disable Perapera. I know you can disable the hotkeys but then why even have them.

Second is that the built-in themes are a little silly. One has black text on a blackish background.

No it's a fine plugin, but it really needs some competition.

世界上最好的 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Well, the dev fixed whatever kept this plugin from working for several updates of Firefox. It is indeed the best CN->EN quick lookup tool you are likely to find. The great thing about Perapera-kun is how his dictionary seems to be the biggest, most detailed, and constantly improved of virtually any out there. And I mean obscure words, which is very helpful to some of us reading rather old texts. Bravo/a to the dev of this thing.

Additional Chinese-German Dictionary cannot be used Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I use FF 44. I installed Perapera Chinese and Chinese-German Dictionary. Both add-ons are available. But in Perapera Chinese Options I can choose ONLY standard English dictionary. In the prev versions it was OK. The same problem is with French Dictionary

Great way to practice reading Chinese Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using this Perapera Chinese add-on for about 6 months now. It's a great way to practice my Chinese reading skills and helps with language acquisition, when I'm not in China or around anyone who speaks Chinese.

While there have been some minor issues with the add-on cropping up whenever Firefox upgrades the browser version, I appreciate Perapera's efforts to maintain this useful add-on and I can't imagine keeping up my Chinese without it. They are responsive to feedback and make efforts to improve the add-on, however difficult it is with all the Firefox broswer upgrades.

Keep up the good work.

Works as expected (except unsigned) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I don't know why others have reported this as not working. I downloaded and installed 12.4.2.0 yesterday from the FF add-on page without any trouble and it works great. It's almost just like Rikaichan for Japanese, which is exactly what I was hoping for. (I knocked off a star because it doesn't work for text in text boxes the way Rikaichan does.)

The only issue I've had is that it shows up in FF43 as unsigned. Right now I have to disable the requirement for signed add-ons in the FF config page, but that won't be an option in FF44. The developer page says he is working to address it, so hopefully this will be resolved before too long.

Great add-on.

Very nice plugin, it's a pity it doesn't work anymore Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Was the best pop-up dictionary for Chinese, but stopped working many Firefox versions ago. Preliminary fix suggested on their website doesn't help either. Hope very much they will sort it out soon.

Love this plugin Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the best Chinese learning plugin I have ever seen. I hope they can get it verified for FF 43. I already miss you, Perapa!

It's been broken for a while Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Back when it worked, Perapera was the best plugin out there for Chinese. I was a staunch Opera user for years and still I kept Firefox around for the sole reason of using Perapera. Now that I use Firefox every day, Perapera *should* be there with me, but it's been missing for a while. I put it off to version inconsistencies and my unwillingness to upgrade from Firefox 37. Today I gave up and upgraded to Firefox 42 and Perapera still does not work. Uninstalling and reinstalling, rebooting, none of it helps. It pops up a window stating "Perapera enabled" but the icon stays greyed out and moving the cursor to Chinese characters doesn't show an annotation like it used to. When this software worked, it was the best, and I hope it can be fixed soon.

Works like charm Rated 5 out of 5 stars

//EDIT: A problem I had before with missing definitions seems to have been caused by an FF update resulting in an automatic plugin downgrade. This could've happened because I had installed the newest version of Perapera-kun before it had been approved by Firefox. Now I reinstalled Perapera's newest version and it works perfectly again.

Finally got this to download Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I finally got this to download and it is indeed added on to Firefox 40.0.3 as an extension - and is Enabled. Earlier, the Add to Firefox button was grayed out on the perapera page. But how to get it to work - do I need to activate it somehow?
It is working fine in Chrome.

Best Chinese popup dictionary Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using Perapera for years, and it's been perfect for my needs. It is my primary dictionary when on my PC – just type the word into a text box in Firefox and then use Perapera to see the pinyin and definition.

It's not currently working on Firefox 40 though, so I hope it is fixed soon!
