Not sure why we need an add-on for new tabs in Firefox, but this lil add-on is great. Thanks so much to the developer and to Firefox in general.
Great. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Simple and functional!
New Tab homepage Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Brilliant! Now I can have what I want when I open a new tab . . . and anyone can have whatever they want. Surprised Firefox removed the option in the first place.
Just works Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Tested this with a new tab and new window. Goes straight to about:blank in both cases which matches my home page, exactly what I wanted.

I would like to reiterate most recent review Rated 5 out of 5 stars
My configuration is the same as posted by craggles on July 18 - my homepage is Google, and using this add-on, I have it set to display this homepage as my new tab page. And the focus is not on the main search box. When going to my homepage from any already open tab - including the new tab homepage, the cursor will display in the search box.
I did a bit of research before installing this extension when I did. Actually, more than needed because the overall objective was to basically avoid even one extra mouse click. First, I had to learn how to set the homepage. Check Then I learned that FF had eliminated the built in feature of setting a new tab to the homepage for security reasons. I still wonder about the security risks with any of the add-ons that offer this functionality. But I chose this one after evaluating two others, as this was the best.
Now I see there is a new addon that says it not only will set a new tab to the homepage, but will apply focus to the "page". In Google, this would obviously be the only form field, the main search box. I don't know what that means for other homepages. Other objects can have focus too, not just text boxes.
So, I like the way this works and will stick with it. It only takes one extra mouse click to place the cursor in the search box - or to reload the page by clicking the home button.
Great, with one flaw Rated 3 out of 5 stars
This is a great extension, for the firefox browser,it opens your homepage as another tab, which i have set to google.
But the annoying issue is it puts the curser in the (www.) address bar,and no way to tell it to put it into the search bar in google on your home page.
Simply a great add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
