Window Master 6.8 No Restart
Easily open links in other windows or on other screens, move or merge tabs, and move or merge entire windows. Especially useful for systems with multiple screens. For Firefox 35.0 and newer.
About this Add-on
Window Master appends menu items to the context menu's for toolbars, tabs and links. These menu items depict the screens on your system plus all open Firefox windows. By clicking or dragging in a menu item, you can move and merge Firefox windows, move and merge tabs, and open links in other windows and on other screens. Window Master was formerly known as Monitor Master.
In order to make the positioning of windows really simple and fast, Window Master subdivides your screen(s) into regions (see Screenshot 1). By clicking or dragging in the Window Master menu item, you may select a combination of regions as a target location. Alternatively, you may select a depicted Firefox window as a target by clicking a single screen region that overlaps with it. This gives rise to six possible actions:
1) From the context menu of toolbars:
a) Merge a window with another open window.
b) Move a window to the indicated screen location.
2) From the context menu of tabs:
a) Move a tab to another open window.
b) Create a new window from a tab at the indicated screen location.
3) From the context menu of links:
a) Open a link in a new tab in an open window.
b) Open a link in a new window at the indicated screen location.
> Your screens need to be configured as an 'extended desktop' for Window Master to function correctly. Window Master identifies your screens when Firefox starts, when you click its toolbar button, and when your mouse enters a graphical control.
> The options in the toolbar panel apply to Window Master functionality only!
> Once you are used to Window Master, you may use the options to hide superfluous context menu items (Open Link in New Tab/Window and Move to New Window).
> Users of Private Tab probably want to check the option 'Allow merging of private and non-private tabs'. In other cases, this option has no effect.
> Users of AMD Eyefinity devices may use the region options to compensate bezels.
> The snap-to-grid feature is incompatible with TileTabs.
Please DONATE once a year if you like this extension and want it to be maintained or improved. The future might bring the following:
