Low Qualitty Flash 7.x - 8.x update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For anyone else that may come across this, here's a repost of the information I sent to Glutex in regards to changing quality:

Here is an updated link for firefox v7: http://www.mediafire.com/?tdjyedv91jjam8a

If you want to change the quality the addon sets by default (so you can default to medium), I think the file you'll be looking at is:

\chrome\content\overlay.js

Change lines 8 , 15 and 17 to "medium" where the code says "low". There may be other areas, but I think that's all there is to it.

I didn't write this program originally, so I don't know if the information I gave above is 100% true or not. Hope this helps.

If this does not work for you try these 2:
FlashResizer or
Flash Game Maximizer.
I hope this helps someone.
Remember to come back and use this add-on when it will be updated someday...

Compatability Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on, i used it with Firefox 3.6 and it was great, i could play flash games without the hassle of changing the quality my self. But now that FF4 is out, I really want it for that, so please make it compatible.

Excellent plugin.
For future releases would appreciate an exception (white) list with websites where flash should be in high quality.
For example - video services.

Flash on a particular site was slow, I used this add-on, now the flash is faster. Simple. Doesn't make flash look terrible either even though it does take the... "polish" off. Thank you for developing this.

Thank you - helps when using * Linux Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This really improves flash speed @ fullscreen. I have a modern laptop with dual core AMD Turion @ 2Ghz but still flash animation etc is really slow / unwatchable on fullscreen.

This is 'cause I use Debian Gnu Linux and adobe only offers some binary blob of flash which is really one piece of...

Suggestion: maybe options to change the quality low, medium, high by site basis etc and easier way to activate / deactivete the low quality.

Linux binary-blob of flash has become a little bit better over the years but 64bit version is still missing and the source would be great so the community could optimize it and add hw-acceleration or make it work better and with more cards and drivers. @ Flash >9 it was faster to run Win32-flash with Wine on Linux than the native Adobe Flash for Linux.

Thanks! This helps 'till the community (etc) thinks up something to make the flash work better with (insert your distro here) Linux.

Awesome work! I was sick of slow scrolling speed in FF on high flash sites, even on my C2D. Tried smooth scrollers only to find that flash is the culprit. Was going to download flash blockers while I saw this one and gave it a try, and it rocks!

But an exception list is a must. Also, you might want to remove "disable" option from inside "options" as this feature is already accessible by "disable" button,

Works for most websites, but no effect on some (e.g. http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console)

Currently, it conflicts with Flashblock as well.

Very useful for old PCs or sites with A LOT of flash that can slow down even modern PSs.
Thank you!
