I installed this several months ago and am very glad I did. It has saved my butt several times. Kudos to the developers of this great add-on!

Database pumps up endlessly and slows down Firefox Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I find it very useful – but I had to uninstall it for good, or unless there's a fix for the bloat up of the database. My Firefox slowed down significantly after a few days, during startup as well as while typing text into forms (the harddisk then scratches all the time like crazy). Of course, there's the option to delete the database. And once I did so, my profile folder now is 60 MB less. Although I chose in settings that I want to keep forms only for 24 hours, the database still pumps itself up endlessly. There's a fix needed for this, something that purges the database and compacts it automatically on a regular basis. But currently it's not an option for me to keep it installed as long as it's such a hog on Firefox. Now I'm using QuickNote add-on to write long texts first in a note and then copying it into the text box when finished. QuickNote has an auto-save function, so I don't have to worry. Enough for my needs for now. Hopefully Lazarus gets improved and I'd give it a second shot. Anyway, apart from the database problem – good work though.

Fixed.

This is (hopefully) resolved in the latest version, which allows you to "vacuum" the database as and when required. Get it from http://interclue.com/download.html

Also, just a gentle reminder about AMO reviews policy - rather than posting bug reports in a review you should use the support contact associated with the add-on (in this case, lazarusATinterclueDOTcom) to make a bug report rather than posting it in a review. If the add-on developer fails to respond appropriately, eg by fixing the bug in the next release, then talking about it in a review becomes more appropriate. Often there will be things about your system (eg, the operating system and firefox version) that the developer needs to known in order to debug the problem, and an AMO profile usually does not allow the addon author to find out who you are and ask these questions.

One of the most usefull addons ever! not only saves you from starting all over if something goes wrong by writing an email or filling other internetforms, but also saves you loads of time if you want to fill in forms for multiple times with comparible entrys, thanks so much!

Database bloats, no options to prevent Rated 3 out of 5 stars

lazarus.sqlite is now larger than places.sqlite. I've filled in (paste) some huge "forms" for bug reports, blog posts, and such - often edited revisions and it seems to remember EVERY ONE.

It has saved me several times, but there should be some way of purging huge text areas or large objects and compact the database. I would like to recover large forms from a crash or mistake. But I never need them a few days later.

Right now the only thing I can do is delete the entire database or watch as it grows without limit. And I don't want to limit them by date - some sites I visit infrequently but want to keep the info, and some I visit often but don't need to keep the data.

Some kind of purge, clean, and compact is all that would be needed for me to consider this near perfect. But the keep all or delete all or single expire setting isn't adequate.

I have no idea why I was so late to the party in discovering this addon, but in the past 4-6 weeks that I've had it installed it's already saved me 2 or 3 times, come in handy another dozen or more, and caused zero problems along the way. Lazarus silently works away in the background, completely unobtrusively and under the radar, until you suddenly need it. At that point, it's right there to do everything possible to resurrect your otherwise-lost work. No muss, no fuss. No complaints!

Amongst one of my favourite add-ons. As someone who tends to write lengthy posts, comments and the likes, it's always appreciated to have a back-up of whatever you write. It has helped me out quite a number of times before, and I've been suggesting it to a lot of people (especially when they complain about losing something they just typed). It's also great for filling in passwords when Firefox for some reason doesn't want to save it.

Funny thing is, I actually used Form Recovery for this review :P

Great add-on! The biggest annoyance for me is that I have a very sensitive 'back' button on my mouse. Whenever I clicked it, I'd lost my text. But thanks to this add-on, I never lose it anymore! Just to show how much I trust this, I'm hitting back, closing my browser, then going back to this.

There. It worked!

Sehr gutes Addon. Funktioniert tadellos und man brauch keine Angst mehr haben, dass eine lange StudiVZ-Mail ins Nirvana verschwindet, weil man zwischenzeitlich ausgeloggt wurde.

Thanks for your reply guys... I uninstalled Lazarus earlier and have reinstalled it but disabled it awaiting your update. I really don't want Lazarus to remember my credit card, banking or even my google searches...! so I will disable globally and enable it when and where I feel it is necessary.. all this after the update. It looks a bit messy when I open the search window and see lots of junk data being saved by this addon and 99% of them will be of no use to me. My 5 Star will follow after your update. Thanks

When a site has a short time-out, and you lose all you've written, or if they have a "helpful hint" that opens a new page forgetting the old page, Lazarus brings it all back. Weehaw!

Excellent Add On, Stress Reliever

I'll never be anxious filling out forms and then losing it in an instant by clicking on other tabs. What a relief!

Saved 3 hours of my life. You think you will never need this but someday you will be glad you had this plugin on. My browser had crashed during applying to a grad school and I had forgotten my username and password. Lazarus saved the day!

I don't use Lazarus often, but when I need the help it is invaluable. I am the only person using my computer so I have enabled saving passwords and that has helped enormously when I forget (yes, even me) what password I used for a site.
