It's not that useful. Just middle click the favicon and firefox will load the URL in the X primary selection.

The workaround suggested by GnuSense is required to make the addon work. Tested on FF 3.0.5. Works like a charm.

Yes like so many add-ons seemingly abandoned by their developers, I too wish it was maintained. Fortunately as with many add-on's editing install.rdf in the compressed xpi file allows you increment the max version for later versions of FF such as 3.03. I did find a ClearURL feature available in the current Konquefox 1.6.1 add-on at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2671 . Despite targeting Linux users this add-on works just fine in Windows XP with FF 3.03. The package provides four page navigation tool bar buttons and a fifth one for clearing the URL which is the only button I need and use with no issues at all.

I'm afraid you have to edit the extension yourself if you want it to work with current releases. In Linux use xarchiver to open the downloaded extension, then extract the install.rdf file and delete the file from the XPI file. Then use a text editor to change the MaxVersion line to 3.2 and drag the saved file back in to the xarchiver opened XPI. Install as usual. It works for me on Iceweasel (Firefox) 3.0.1.

Wonderful add-on. Just wish it was kept up for FF3. Authors website seems down. :(

Works good on Firefox 3 RC1.
But will be good to add a clear "Find" field for searching on page and "Search in Google" field buttons. And update compatibility for Firefox 3 RC1.

light weight and looks great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love the design of the button. It works great and quick - and it is a simple extension - not bogged down with any buttons I don't want or need. I love light, quick, and easy extensions and this one is great.
