Ack, autoupdates v0.7.1.1 to this spyware Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I went through the hassle of getting the older v0.7.1.1 to run (maxVersion fix) -- it runs fine for me; no issues. Until today, when Firefox auto-updated 7.1.1 to the WIPs spyware version. Man I wish FF supported disabling updates on single addons... Have to turn them all off for autoupdating, to keep this one out...

The plugin is detected as Malware Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Why is this plugin detected as malware ?
I found online information as follows
BlockSite is an extension, which automagically blocks websites of your choice. Additionally, this extension will disable all hyperlinks to these websites, by just displaying the link text without the clicking functionality.
The old BlockSite 0.7.1.1 by Erik van Kempen has been taken over by Wips.com. The original ID has been preserved. Wips.com extensions have tracking capabilities and are considered "spyware". More information available here and here.
There are more Wips.com extensions still offered on addons.mozilla.org, which should be avoided. Check the lists here and here.

Does what It claims but..... Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Works great but I'd like it alot better if there was a toolbar icon to bring it up rather than going thru options/addonsThis user has a previous review of this add-on.
Prima! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Очень плохо! Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Вообще не блокирует сайты! вношу в чёрный список и ничего не меняется! раньше работало ,теперь боьше не работает!
Malware. Rated 1 out of 5 stars
This crap app is malware.
I HATE this addon! Rated 1 out of 5 stars
It installed automatically, without my permission, the last time I relaunched firefox, and proceeded to block EVERY tab I had open! And how is it supposed to keep me from being distracted when a notification that it is blocking the site I was using keeps popping up every few seconds? This addon is beyond worthless, it is irritating!
You're awesome! and your program is awesome! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Thanks so much, I used the wildcard feature to block all "Wikia" websites. I have this stupid habit of spoiling games for myself while looking for info. You saved me from my dumb memory haha, thank you.
Use the previous version, this one suck ! Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I used the old version of blocksite which was very unstable but was working ! The current version don't desactivate the link in google search. And it's really the BIG features i love in blocksite : all the crappy site i've visited one time, never be visited another time.
Instead now, blocksite let you waste you time with a rigth click, open a new tab, display a block site message. Super !
So what i've done is i've get a previous version and modified it in order to run it in the new firefox.
As the rules in the firefox comments is "do not provide link", i can't provide links to the other users. But it's not so hard : go into google, type Index of blocksite-0.7.1.1-fx.xpi, download it, open it with 7zip, open install.rdf, modify the line maxVersion with let say 50.0.* close it, double clik on it and get the previous version working on any firefox.
I hope another developper will take the hand on this project a day and restore the functionnality or some project like leechsite will do it a day.

Absolute crap. Does nothing.

This addon is awesome! I use it to block some annoying ads !!! Thank you so much
Not working Rated 1 out of 5 stars
U can add sites as much as u want, since this extension doesn't block them at all. Tried 12 variations of 'softonic', even all at once.
Nothing changed, nothing blocked. Disapointed :(

I'm using Firefox 40.0. I tried a couple of other site blocking add-ons, but this was the only one that worked for me. I'm currently trying to track down where on my computer a piece of malware installed a browser homepage hijacking script that keeps loading its site when I open my browsers. Meanwhile, I needed something to stop the page from loading when I open Firefox. None of the other site blockers worked, but Block Site stopped the browser from even connecting to the site, rendering instead a blank tab page and a notification that the page had been stopped from loading. Excellent work! This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Authenticantion doesn´t work.
Autenticação não está funcionando.
Pointless Rated 1 out of 5 stars
What Sense does it make to block sites if the this add-on is malware itself?
