Desperately Waitin' On Urgent Update... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It was a very useful add-on.

But it seems there are some incompatibilities now - it works not always as it should and as it did some time ago.

No compatibility at all with the australised Firefoxes.

No update more than 3 expectant years now - barlesque sadly has passed away from us ?!

(no more star because overdue update staying away and compatibility issue)

Always on top Rated 1 out of 5 stars

while it does look sleek, it cant be hidden even with its (hide) button since it always shows up again, nop matter how many times you change the preferences, for that matter i would better use another addon

Barlesque had a great run. Years of service for me. Thank you. These days, I highly recommend the switch to something (amazing) like "A Better Firefox Add-on Bar" by jcontreras.

Good workaround for firefox's horribly-misconceived addon bar! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Firefox inexplicably has an addon bar that (1) takes up the entire width of the screen even if there's almost nothing on it, (2) neither the bar nor most of its icons can be moved from the bottom of the screen, and (3) can only be shown or hidden so that none of the information on it is visible. Barlesque addresses (1) and to some extent (3) pretty well.

UI Fixer (or Mar Mod Updated) can address (2) by allowing you to drag the addon-bar-only group of icons to another toolbar. Alternatively, url-addon-bar moves the *entire* addon-bar inside the right-hand side of the address/location bar. See my collection https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/collections/dabruro/compact/ for additional comments.

When minimized, Barlesque seems to auto-show when some of the icons or information on it change, though I don't think this is 100% consistent. Another reviewer mentioned that it auto-shows when changing tabs -- that's true although I think it *should* do that if changing tabs causes any change to what's shown on the bar.

As pointed out by hermandes, it would be very nice if Barlesque had the ability to auto-show (temporarily) when it's minimized and we hover down there in the corner, so we don't have to click to show and then click again separately to re-minimize it.

very nice, please create findbar Rated 5 out of 5 stars

it's very nice for me.

Fixing a Barlesque annoyance Rated 5 out of 5 stars

@Rui: There's a fix for the "doesn't stay collapsed" issue you complain about.

Download a local copy of the XPI and open it up. Edit the file Chrome/Content/overlay.js. Comment out or delete lines 566-570. Barlesque is not staying collapsed because it's responding to notifications, and the code that makes it do that is that block of lines.

Save the file back into the XPI, then install from the local copy.

Great Concept, Not So Great Execution Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This add-on was the first one of it's kind that I've used.

It shortens the add-on bar, increasing Firefox's webpage area and functionality. It also integrates Download Statusbar into it's minimalistic appearance.

Unfortunately, after retesting it for 10min I found that many bugs remain still.
As mentioned by No Nothing, the bar doesn't always stay collapsed and it always pops back up on changing tabs.

I've also found that, when there are downloads running on Download Statusbar and the find text bar (Ctrl+F) is active, the bars become messy, with an empty bar at the bottom and Barlesque unintentionaly merging into the find bar.

I recommend using Minimize Addon-Bar instead.

Not compatible with new Firefox 10 inspector tool.

Stylish alternative by Casey Jones works too! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Something like Barlesque is essential, so I've been not upgrading FF (I'm on 5...) so it won't mess with it. I checked back to see about new versions, and saw Casey Jones' Stylish alternative a couple of comments earlier. Works very well! So that's one more alternative.

Nice Extention Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's a really useful extention that make my firefox more clearer.

Thank you for such a wonderful add-on.
One little suggestion: add an option to show the bar when you hover X px from the collapser icon. This could make the extension even faster to use.

Great idea. I did the same thing using Stylish:

In my opinion, this is a MUST-HAVE for anyone who wants to reclaim screen space. Getting rid of the Menu Bar helps a lot, but I don't want to get rid of my Add-On Bar, especially as I use ABP, Ghostery, and FlashBlock, all of which I need to be able to modify per-website. This allows me to do just that, but opens up the bottom of the screen giving a much more streamlined interface.
Simple, elegant, opens screen space, can be pulled up or down to give even more space, have not run into any program-based bugs

Works wonderfully on every screen I have, including 55" LED-LCD 1080p 240hz Television (hooked up to computer via DVI or HDMI), my gaming and HD Video/Audio Editing PC's 30" 2560x1440p I-IPS and 2x 24" 1920x1200 screens, to my laptop's 18.4" 1920x1200 screen...

Haven't tried to use it with FF Mobile (android) yet, as FF-Mobile itself sucks.

However, this add-on ROCKS

Not for Vertical Toolbar or tab Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Vertical Toolbarを右側に設置した場合、それにかぶるように表示されてしまいます。

If you may use "Vertical Toolbar" or "Tab tree", you try to put two of "Space".
