Great addon! I must say though, it has had SO many features added over time that re-installing it between browsers / PCs has become a bit tedious, since I disable so many each time. What is nice about this though is that there is a search feature that allows you to text-search for the features that you don't like. I personally feel that this addon has almost gotten to the point that on install, it should ask you if you would like to run "Light" (only core features enabled) or "Full" (current default setting). Still, many features in this feel almost necessary. I leave Night Mode permanently enabled! This addon feels quite professional - no buttons/options look out of place, all functions work flawlessly.

Once you start using this it is near impossible to go back to normal reddit. Great extension that offers amazing functionality that reddit surprisingly lacks by default.

Adds core functionality that should be there by default. No one should be using reddit without this.

Reddit is useless w/out this.

I edited a comment, went to the bottom and hit ENTER. Whoa, comment saved instead of a newline being inserted. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

A must-have for Redditors Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Provides so much functionality that browsing reddit without RES feels like a pain. After noticing that the latest update supports gfycat, I simply had to write a positive review as the only thing that annoyed me was now fixed.

Reddit is so big it's simply impossible to use regularly without this add-on. And kudos to the developers for solving problems almost immediately, always helpful, always friendly

The up/downvote arrows still seem to be missing in RES nightmode though.

zzz at the random kids leaving low-rating reviews for trivial things.

While I don't use all of the new functionality, the night mode, NSFW filter and especially the inline image feature are fantastic additions that made things much easier for me.
Cheers!

Can't really browse reddit without it, limiting my reddit-use at work, thanks RES team for keeping me productive!

One suggestion: keyboard mode disabled by default.

This add-on is one of my favorites, in fact it's so good Reddit should hire you.

Every single feature is flawless.

AMAZING!!! So many users using it and so little reviews. Means that we're all too busy using Reddit, improving productivity on the most anti productive site on the internet.

And if there's any problems then the subreddit /r/RESIssues has questions and answers. It's a community driven support. Also developer driven support. half way cheating there.

Whenever I see someone on Reddit and they don't have RES installed I ask them why don't they have it installed like they didn't have the tires on their car.

They *DO* listen to bug reports. Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

/r/apple with Firefox on Windows hasn't displayed correctly in months (or possibly years).

When viewing a thread, the "comment" box is hidden. You have to manually disable the extension, reload the page, type your comment, submit it, then re-enable the extension to continue browsing. It seems to work fine on Mac OS X, but not Windows version of Firefox.

The issue (with screenshots):
http://www.reddit.com/r/RESissues/comments/225nlp/bug_comment_box_doesnt_show_in_rapple_with/

The developers have acknowledged the issue and checked out the code. There is apparently a bug with the custom CSS done on /r/apple.

CSS allows for a literally infinite number of ways to style a page, making it impossible / unreasonable to expect that the CSS in RES will mesh perfectly with a subreddit's individual style.

For this reason, it's really incumbent upon the subreddit moderator(s) to try and make their sub look right in RES, not RES.

I do apologize that we missed your bug report on the comment box a month ago - we're generally quite attentive to those but sometimes when the couple of us who are active both have to tend to our jobs (RES pays us nothing) we miss one or two.

Thing is, that particular issue seems unique to you. We test RES on every browser and we haven't been able to replicate that one. I do apologize for leaving your last response un-replied though.

Are you aware of how to use Firefox's inspector tools to see what might be hiding the element (e.g. a rogue CSS rule, etc), and/or check if there are any javascript errors when this occurs?

Expandos are still broken.

"we provide a direct download link there because the latest version is not available here yet (still waiting to be reviewed by Mozilla)."

Doesn't look that way. If an update is waiting for a review you can always see it in the "See complete version history" section marked as either preliminarily or not reviewed.

This time it looks like Mozilla reviewed you addon and refused it. As much as I love RES I can't blindly trust you on this one.

Edit: Thank you for the prompt reply. I hope you'll be able to sort everything out with mozilla soon.

they did review and reject it because it's got a huge number of changes, a couple of which they didn't care for - primarily over style..

feel free to view our source on github. we're working on an update to address those changes and just hadn't updated the description. thanks for your patience.

I've used RES a long time. It is so useful that Reddit without RES is like PB&J without the PB&J. Yet, this is the first time I'm writing a review for this addon. I'm writing this review only now because the developer has impressed me with a demonstration of his/her own iron balls.

Upon discovery of a serious security flaw, the developer had a few choices. Keep hush and quietly patch it, warn people but continue to let the flaw be exploitable, or protect the millions of users of RES by making RES unusable and forcing people to update immediately.

From a public relations point of view, the third choice would be disastrous. Imagine logging onto Windows and having your screen locked until you download an update from Microsoft. There would be riots in Redmond and it would convince many people to jump over to Linux very quickly! And indeed, the (ahem) lazier readers have screeched their awkward cacophony of criticisms about this choice.

But from a security point of view, no other choice is acceptable. Neither keeping quiet nor warnings will help protect RES's users against a clever, malicious enemy. And especially not one with access to a social network where data can spread like a wildfire. Like a match in a propane store, there is no other acceptable solution but to extinguish the flame.

So bravo, developer. You've made the right choice. I know I'm only a whisper in the wind compared to these other reviews, but I hope that this review provides a little warmth after replying to the cold, unsympathetic masses.

thanks for the kind words... the influx of 1-star reviews has been somewhat disheartening, so your post means a lot -- appreciate it!

I've posted details on the vulnerability to /r/RESAnnouncements in case you're interested in reading more about it.
