Version 1.7.0 requires tweaking for Ubuntu 16.04 Bewertet mit 4 von 5 Sternen

In my previous review , I was sorry that version 1.7.0 no longer works with KeePass v. 2.25, which is the one shipped with Ubuntu 14.04 (which is still supported until year 2019).

Now I upgraded my computer to Ubuntu 16.04, which is the latest long term support (until year 2021) release. It ships with KeePass 2.32, and unfortunately the KeeFox 1.7.0 plugin does not work even with this version.

With some tweaking, I got it working: install packages
from the normal Ubuntu repository, and a newer version 2.36 of Keepass2 from the PPA .

This is a great plugin (open source and works fine). I hope that this may be some help to someone wanting to run it on Ubuntu 16.04.

Thanks for your review and tips for others trying to get the latest KeePass version running on Linux.

Version 1.7.0 no longer works with KeePass 2.25 Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen

Unfortunately the new update 1.7.0 no longer works with KeePass v. 2.25: On startup, KeePass reports "The plugin cannot be loaded. A newer KeePass version is required to open this file."

Unfortunately upgrading is not such a simple option, since 2.25 is the version which is shipped with Ubuntu 14.04, which is still supported until May 2019. So it would be much appreciated by a large amount of Ubuntu users if we could have soon v. 1.7.1 which works with KeeFox 2.25.

The addon itself deserves 5 stars in my mind. It provides good integration between many websites/web applications and KeePass. I find it important that both KeeFox and KeePass are open source and in wide use: This gives some reason to believe that there are no backdoors or other privacy threats.

Works just like it should and seems secure.

During a couple of years of use, it has stopped working once or twice after upgrades (of Firefox, Keepass2 or some Linux library) so it might not be an Keefox issue at all. Somehow I got it fixed.
