Add default Firefox animation when tabs are closed Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternen

1) Can you add the default animation when you close a tab? When I have this addon installed, it is not using default Firefox closing animation.

2) Triple click inside page is not working here with Firefox 48.0.2 Windows 10. When I set up 2 clicks, it does work correctly. Why is triple click on a page not working, what is wrong?

need extra option Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Great addon! I use it for closing tabs with middle mouse click. But sometimes when mouse pointer accidentally is over link, clicking middle mouse button opens link in a new tab instead of closing tab. Is there a way to disable middle button to open a link in a new tab?

Thanks for the review! While what you want is possible, I must say that given the vast changes in FF, I simply have way too many things to do with my other much more complex addons. So I can't promise anything about adding an option to disable middle click opening links.

However, personally I tried many combinations, and I really like double right click to close inside page. It's also the best way to do it in my DCCT in Chrome. I suggest that you give it a try. I understand that it means that you'd close tab differently inside page and on tabs, but that never bothered me at all and you likely will get used to it.

Works and even better Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Lots of extensions do this job but this one does even better. It allows to double-click-close the last tab to show the enhanced tile page. Excellent.

Thanks! Not sure that's DCCT's feature though. I do think DCCT is the best tab-closing addon - as closing tab can be done both on tab and in page - but I may be biased. :)

4 out of 5
simple to install, easy to set up, quick to use

With high monitor resolution, if you do not like small X buttons for tabs, this is ABSOLUTELY for you!

The only missing thing is removing/moving/minimizing current close buttons.

It's much easier to close the tabs.

This is an essential extension that should be built into Firefox.

Many thanks to the developer for creating it.

The only issue is that sometimes Firefox stalls when closing a tab. It's unclear whether or not that has anything to do with this extension, or is just a bug in Firefox.

Since it might just be a Firefox bug, got to give this one 5 Stars!

Not click in page. only trigger the func when I click on tab. Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

"BTW if single click on page is implemented, ......"
What if just trigger the func when user single click on tab.

Thank you anyway ! I can implement same stuff just by Script...(muh...the most stupid way...)

and I thought I should learn some about how coding a extension.
Thanks again.

Sorry I forgot all the methods I implemented myself - in fact you already can choose to use single middle click on page to close tab. FF also by default lets you single middle click on tab to close tab. That's also one click. It'd be tricky to change my code to deal with just a single left click.

Essential Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Pretty much an essential addon for me. The only problem I have is that lately using "double right click" to close tab sometimes causes some weird lag. Using double left click or single/double middle click is not so good because you can accidentally close a tab when you're trying to select text or accidentally open links in a new tab, respectively. Maybe the best option is triple left click, I have yet to try that one.

Edit: Raising score to 5 stars after developer response made me realize it's probably just some websites that are at fault. I will investigate which websites lag when using double right click to close tab.

To clarify, the problem is that some websites cause Firefox to stop responding for a good 4-5 seconds when using double right click to close tab. I suspect it's probably the right click menu which makes FF lock up for a few seconds. Sometimes I'm not sure if the problem was my timing or that FF stopped responding and I end up closing two tabs (I have another addon that gives me quick access to "Undo Close Tab" so it's not much of a problem).

Edit2: I confirm it seems to be an issue with FF itself, sometimes a tab takes ages to close even without using DCCT as the closing method. Furthermore I don't remember this issue happening with old versions of FF.

Thanks for the update & upgrade! I did notice that the most recent FF (FF33 and FF34) seems to have some memory management issues - it crashes often on a 32bit machine with 20 tabs or more. And it crashes often when using the new Google Maps, which sucks BTW compared to the old one - seems to me the only purpose of the new Google Maps is to mess up FF as Chrome doesn't crash dealing with it.
With that said, another phenomenon I noticed was that when I close a tab (whichever way I close it, either DC on tab or DRC on page or TLC on page or Ctrl-W), occasionally half of the old closed tab's content shows on top of the newly-in-focus tab. It's a very weird phenomenon that happens on my Win8.1 64-bit machine(s). This is confirmed not due to DCCT because simply switching tabs by SLC (single left click) on a tab could lead to the same super-imposition problem. This happens when memory usage is high. So I suspect what you saw is a variant of this issue, and it might be due to FF rather than the websites. But this is just a hunch, I can't reliably reproduce the issue to file a bugzilla report.

Previous reply:
Hmm, I've never seen this issue though. So if you double click on tab to close, it doesn't lag, but double right on page it lags? Did you notice if the lag is consistently on some web pages but not others? I suspect some pages might be doing something with mouse events, although that's still hard to explain how a page eventually end up being closed, just that the closing gets delayed.
If you can find a way to reproduce it - like it always happens on a certain page - send me URL. Also let me know which OS, FF versions are you using. I suspect it's OS related as FF behavior for right click/context menu on Linux and Mac was different than Windows before.

I was searching for floating close button, didn't find, but this one can replace it, so useful, thanks a lot ;)

Bin looking for this for quite some time. Total time saver and frustration saver for a shaky mouse hand trying to click a little "x".
Even close the browser on single tab. Again, no little "x"
Thank you Mingyi Liu!

Yes, but on the other hand, I used to use TabMixPlus, for 2 reasons only. 1: double click to close tab. 2. adjust tab width. The issue is, why would I install such a big addon that slows FF down for these two trivial reasons? That's why I made this small DCCT addon to replace it (for myself at least). If I add more and more functionality, DCCT will become more like TMP. You can try check if TMP is actually more useful for you, or find another small footprint addon that does what you want alongside DCCT.

Weird to be excited by such a little thing Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Oops, must have hit the wrong button and submitted an empty review.

I downloaded this little gem and restarted Firefox about 15 minutes ago, and have been gleefully opening tabs just experience the joy of zapping them closed. And I haven't even played with the settings yet!

One thing I want from this extension:
-able to close tab by single middle clicking on the tab itself, I can't do that on the last tab so it would be be nice.
EDIT: No, I mean on the very LAST tab, mozilla doesn't allow it, and I would like it on this extension.

I did not implement "Close tab by single middle click" in DCCT because Firefox itself already does it. In your case, I bet some other addon you installed (maybe TabMixPlus?) disabled Firefox's default behavior. Disable that addon (or adjust its settings if available) and you'd have single middle click closes tab back.

Please adjust your rating because the issue affecting your rating is not related to DCCT. Thank you.

1. If you have a request, I'd rather you contact me through email than giving my addon a 4-star review that I don't appreciate.
2. The feature you want is rather personal preference, as I can see why FF does not implement it - they don't want people to accidentally close FF because they did not realize the tab they just closed is the last tab. I agree with FF folks on this.

Does its job well. Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

I use it to disable double-click tab closing.

Does not work with Tab Utilities Lite.

[edit - since there's no threaded discussion]

Perhaps it's a third addon that's conflicting? I ended up just disabling Tab Utilities Lite. =)

Hmm, I just downloaded Tab Utilities Lite and DCCT still works fine as far as I can tell.

Update: Yes, maybe it's a 3rd addon conflicting with TUL. When I tested TUL + DCCT, I didn't see any issue to either addon, although I didn't test much of TUL's functionalities - DCCT shouldn't affect any of those, however, unless user set conflicting tab-clicking options in DCCT and TUL.
