Nicely done! I like the CSV option.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (22.214.171.124-signed) abgegeben.
I agree with everyone who suggests splitting out the dictionaries individually. Furthermore, I'm frequently having to "reset" my dictionary back to English because it keeps switching to French (reform) which turns out to be the top option on the list. It would be nice to either remove that one or set English as the default.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (4.9) abgegeben.
This one delivers exactly as promised. I put it in the category of being so handy that I'm not sure why it's not part of Firefox. Great job!
I've been using MashLogic for months now and it is very impressive. I'm not sure how they do it, but the add-on seems to have an uncanny ability to determine what text on the page should be link-enabled. In particular, it does a great job of identifying people's names and technical terms, both of which are very useful.
The pop-up is also well done. It only appears after a slight delay and it disappears quickly when you move the mouse away. You can control of sources of content that appear in the pop-up, but the default choices are very good. It's also easy to scroll through the pop-up and the content is very well presented. It's great how easy it is to get to the information you need. I also like the way they commence populating the pop-up as soon as the content sources start replying. This way you don't have to wait for everyone to respond before you begin consuming information.
This is precisely what an add-on should strive to be - non-obtrusive when it's not needed and very helpful when the user decides to activate it. 5 stars.
While I understand the need for short URLs, a lot of information is lost when all you can see is http://bit.ly/sfasdfdks. Before clicking a link, I generally like to know where I'm going (what domain), especially if all someone says is "Check this out!" I thought this might be the perfect application for an add-on and, low and behold, here it is!
This add-on works exactly as advertised. Find any one of a number of different varieties of shortened URLs on virtually any webpage, hover over the link and within a second or two you get a little box with the expanded URL and the title of the destination page. There's also a link that takes you to some additional useful information at http://longurl.org/expand?url=...
This add-on is very handy and never gets in the way. Load it up and forget it. Very well done!
I read about this at http://www.pcworld.com/article/172854/notawesome_firefox_addon_selectively_hides_your_history.html and had to check it out. I'm giving it 5 stars not just because the name, NotAwesome, is awesome, but because it's a great idea, very handy and super-easy to use.
That being said, for people unfamiliar with managing bookmarks, a little tutorial or explanation might be helpful. I was quickly able to figure out that it's managing the hidden bookmarks with a "notawesome" tag, which you can use to find your hidden bookmarks or remove to unhide bookmarks, but perhaps some people might have difficulty figuring that out. Pointing out the "Recent Tags" line in the Bookmarks dropdown would also probably be helpful. In fact, it might be best to add a "notawesome" option to the Bookmarks dropdown (Yoono is one add-on that does this) and then give people options for viewing and managing their hidden bookmarks.
It's still experimental, but it's really good and I'm sure it'll become even better.
+2 for mongoes idea.
Samfind has always been a very slick toolbar, and I recommend the current version, however, v2 is especially nice. One of the things that I've always liked about the toolbar is that it can reside in the same row as the URL bar and can be opened and collapsed simply by clicking on the icon. This is very handy is your don't want a toolbar that takes up real estate at the top of your browser, and you don't lose anything because it's very easy to get to. The auto-hide is also nicely done.
The ability to customize the toolbar is also remarkable. They've incorporated virtually everything as an option. I haven't been able to find anything that's been left out, and I've been using this add-on for several months.
The current version is recommended and v2 (which was just released) is highly recommended.
If you're on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and/or FriendFeed, this is an add-on for you. Installation creates a sidebar which is not only esthetically pleasing, and contains a ton of information and options, but is easy to open and collapse.
Once you link up to your accounts, you get practically everything in the sidebar - updates, friends, alerts - either for each service individually or all combined. It's also nice how the feed scrolls as it's updated. Here's a cool trick - Hover over an image in the sidebar and a full-sized version will be displayed in the middle of your browser. Move the mouse away and it's gone. It's also easy to update your status on all services simultaneously.
You'll also get 'alert' boxes in the lower right of your browser whenever there's an update to your feed. These can start coming in fast and furious, but they're very easy to customize by clicking on "options."
The sharing is very well done - clicking the share button in the left pane opens up a pop-over window with a couple of buttons. A Mailto: option would be nice, however, it's very cool how you can share either the whole page or only the part that interests you.
According to Yoono there are some new UI changes in the works, but here are some helpful tips:
* Options menus are available by clicking the little circles in the tabs in sidebar.
* Right-clicking the tabs will open up another set of options. From here you can get to a "Manage Widgets" page that will allow you to, among other things, add email. which is great.
* If you "close the sidebar" you can get it back from the View-->Sidebar menu.
I could write about more, including the integrated search and real-time results from OneRiot, but that should do it for now. This add-in is very well done and highly recommended!
We've had Shareaholic installed for months and there's a reason they've surpassed a million downloads and also just raised angel funding (http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/09/25/browser-plugin-shareaholic-passes-1-million-downloads-closes-seed-funding/) - Their add-on is very useful and smoothly integrated.
Shareaholic currently offers over 60 services for sharing, which will probably cover most everyone's needs. They also enable the ability to place the sharing icon in any combination of the URL bar, the context menu and/or the Navigation Panel. Customizing the services and changing the appearance could not be easier.
This is one that you could install and use every day.
The development team at WOT is very helpful, and committed to working with other add-on developers to assure compatibility. With their assistance we were able to make the latest version of our add-on completely compatible with WOT. They also have an excellent add-on.Diese Bewertung wurde für eine vorherige Version des Add-ons (20090325) abgegeben.
