Very useful Add-on Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Perfect for easy control of the relevant switches for all active content.
Very convenient that changing controls does not require a browser restart. So I can temporarily enable JS in the settings when doing online payment with new windows being opened - and disabling JS when it is no longer needed.

A great add-on for developers Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Lets you quickly turn javascript, images, etc on or off, which is so helpful as you develop webpages. Thank you for creating it.

A hidden gem!

An amazing extension that can replace many other extensions.

This extension is flexible, customizable, and tiny!

Great function but GREEN means go, NOT blue... Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

This is a great add-on. It plays well with NoScript. Only complaint is the color scheme which uses red for disabled and blue for enabled.Green should be the color of enabled. Maybe this is a default color coming from Firefox. If that's the case, override it. At least make this an option...

-- update --

Thank you for your quick, informative reply. Looking at it now, my initial response was too influenced by frustration. I did not know about red/green colorblindness confusion. I suppose that's one reason traffic lights are stacked. There must be many signal situations such as multi-color LEDs which cause problems. I'll research this some more to be more accomodating in my own designs.

Blue was selected for a reason, but it is an option.

Fred, I'm glad you enjoy the extension. The default color is blue because of colorblindness. Most individuals, including myself, with partial colorblindness have difficulty distinguishing green from red.

That said, if you right click any QJ icon and go into the options you will see a section for custom CSS for the buttons. The example provided gives you the numeric codes for a green, or you can use your own.

It used to block every image, but now since yesterday, it's not blocking google image search results. I have both "I" and "A" disabled, and if I do a random image search in google, some of the images are still loading!

Firefox/Mozilla issue

QuickJava only changes existing options built into Firefox, so if those options are being changed (some images don't load) but not functioning as you would expect them to, then you will need to file a bug report with the Mozilla team.

In the future, please do not use reviews for bug reports. When you submit a report you are agreeing that you are not using it for that purpose. Then they just get flagged and removed.

Most useful/ critical extension for latest versions of Firefox Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Great! Could not find where Firefox hid the java control aplet .. and did not relish spending more time digging the necessary code tweak. Really surprising Firefox has so mangled its updates - this has not happened in older versions of Firefox OR in my now preferred Firefox version from Palemoon. Many thanks!

Es perfecto para cuando tienes una conexión lenta o con limite de datos. Desactivas imágenes y flash y las webs se bajan más rápido.

a good thing that happened to Firefox! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

In the past year Firefox performance has taken a big smackdown, and you'll notice this if you keep multiple tabs open in your usual, daily use (like me). FF stalling, sometimes freezing (where the browser turns white), trying to scroll a page and getting a 20 second lag (by which time that second scroll down you did after 10 seconds also now happens) is making the FF experience maddening. Quickjava allows you to turn off Flash, JS, etc which definitely helps. This is a great product but I would rather have Mozilla fix these annoying problems. I now use Chrome about half the time, the reason I stick with FF at all is I've become so accustomed to my add-ins over the years that I'm lost without them!

Kind of a life changer

I've been using QuickJava for a number of years. Each year, it gives more granular, customizable control to its users. Along with rigorous security settings and smart habits, QuickJava is a great tool to lesson the chance of malware infecting your machine. Advice: think about how you setup QJ. It has extremely helpful features on start up, defaults, etc... QJ is another great protective tool while assisting a bit to keep what is private, private (hint: disable Flash, Silverblight, and even JS most the time).

This is the best extension I have ever installed, period. I am running Windows XP and have been plagued by plugin crashes, script errors, and general memory overloads that have wasted hours and hours of my time during the last several weeks. I have tried every tip and trick posted on the web and none of them worked. And then I stumbled upon QuickJava. I could not believe how quickly all of these issues were resolved and how much faster my internet speed was immediately (and I mean within seconds) after installing this extension. Just incredibly amazing and brilliant. Thank you so much!!!

THank you! Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

I've been driven mad by the problems of security needs and the forced use of Java for years!
This is great!
Thanks again.

Great add on. Gives me the option of turning off javascript, Java or Flash with a toggle switch located near the address bar. It comes in really handy for iffy sites or debugging.

Easiest way to enable or disable Javascript and more . . . Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

Javascript was apparently turned off during my last Firefox update. Now that the newest version of Firefox has deleted "Enable Javascript" from Options, I spent several hours fruitlessly researching how to re-enable Javascript. Finally found QuickJava which worked perfectly. Within 5 minutes I had installed QuickJava and re-enable Javascript. I'd highly recommend QuickJava.

I have no idea why they removed that option, but it certainly increased the popularity of QJ. I'm glad it was able to help you get back to a working state.

Some suggestion (request) Bewertet mit 5 von 5 Sternen

It is very useful and almost perfect addon for me.

For me, two things lacking in options:
- useragent switcher (default / latest mobile Firefox)
- color schema switcher (default / black-white)

What I manually set with:
with general.useragent.override
with browser.display.use_document_colors

Thanks, so much!

Feature requests - Response

Feature requests should be put in the GitHub (linked on the support site), however I will say that both of those are outside the scope of this extension so they will not be implemented. The good news is there are plenty of other options for extensions that do those things already :)
